EW! That's so gross! You HAVE to show me!!!"

Yea, I never expected that reaction. I didn't think people would find out. It's interesting how you tell one person one thing, and it travels. Anyways. Yea, I got my nipples pierced. And now everyone wants me to flash them. Guess that's what you get for piercing them, eh?

I know I'm only 16, and I should really have waited till I was older, but, it's one of the few things I can get pierced. MY parents are stricked on the piercing front, and well, I can't get my vertical labret, I bloody well get my nipples pierced.

I spoke with my mom about it, and she agreed to talk me to the closest piercing place to get them done. But, alas, when I phoned in, they informed me that they will not pierce me till I'm 18, even with parental consent, and that you have to have enough to a chest to support it (so, are you saying you think I'm prepubescent? And what about male nipple piercings?). So, I had to wait till the next time I went to the city.

A month after the phone call, I went to visit my friend Geordie. He had his nipple pierced a couple of weeks before hand, and really wanted to be with my when I got mine done (yea, he said he wanted to see my "nips"), so, we took the TRL (subway system) to the piercing studio. Once again, I was turned down because of my age and gender. The piercer told me that because the female body takes longer to finish growing, they didn't want to chance more scar tissue than necessary (understandable, but still!). We went wandering from studio to studio, but, none of them would even pierce me (and I mean any piercing, even standard lobes) unless I had a parent present. So, the wait began once again.

Well, about a month ago, I got my chance to finally get my nipples pierced. My friends and I took a day trip to another of the cities located only an hour away. When we go to the studio, I could not stop staring at the guy behind the count. I swear everything was pierced on him. Looked good, but lord, don't tell me you're piercing me! He wasn't. In fact, the piercer was busy, and had an appointment at 1:30 for a standard nostril piercing. So, my friends and I went out to Timmies to eat and kill time (Timmies a.k.a Tim Hortons). We got back to the studio at 2:30, and it seemed they were more nervous than I. I showed the guy behind the counter my ID (I had to use a birth certificate and one of my school ID cards, which they had fun looking at), and sign a contract saying that any infection was not their responsibility, and so on.

The piercer then came out, and brought me into the room. It was small, with pictures covering the wall of previous piercings. It was funny because I knew a lot of the people in the photos. She had my remove my shirt, cleaned my nipples, and explained to me what she was doing, and that for a week or so, till swelling went down, the piercing would look crooked (jeeze! don't freak me out like that!). After they were marked, she put some clippy type hoops on the marks so I could see how it would look (I was getting bar bells, but, it was so I could get the jist of it all), after I agreed with the marking, she darkened the marks, and had my lye down on the table.

The clamps don't hurt. Sure, it's uncomfortable, but, it doesn't hurt. Well, in my opinion anyways... She clamped my left nipple, had me take a deep breath in, and shoved the needle through on the exhale. It burnt. Felt like she was twisting the needle when she put the bar bell in, but, it wasn't painful (does that make sense?). She had to remind me to finish my exhale, and then put a cold cloth on the freshly pierced nipple. We chatted a bit, laughed at the poster she had on the ceiling (have a good day, have an invisible day, have an anal day...), and then she got to work on the other nipple. The clamp felt the same, but my god did the needle hurt. The first one burnt, like getting splattered with grease when making bacon or something, but, the second one actually hurt. I jumped a bit, didn't even notice her put the bar bell in. But god did that cold cloth ever feel good.

She put a bandage on each of my nipples, and gave me time to get dressed again, then sat me down, gave me a care sheet, and told me what to do to take care of my piercings. It was entertaining, because almost everything she said was on the sheet, almost word for word.

They bled for the first week, and had lymph's (crusties) on them for another 2 or so weeks. I cleaned them once to two times a day with spectro jel and sea salt solution (You are suppost to clean them 2-3 times a day). So far, I haven't had any problems. I took Tylenol for the first 2 days, but, only for sleeping, because I would role over, and it would hurt a bit. But, for dance, cheerleading, and all that fun stuff I did, I didn't even notice they were pierced. Actually, I only noticed them for the first day and a bit because of that slight throb.

If you want a nipple piercing, go for it. It might hurt, it might not. You never know till you try. Oh, and by the way, if they look crooked at first wait a month. Mine looked crooked, but, after swelling, they were straight :P
