I'd been thinking about getting another piercing for about a couple of months. I was talking to a friend at college and she mentioned that she'd always wanted to get her nipple pierced. This got me thinking as I had already got my navel pierced about a year or so ago and i was getting to that 'itchy' stage where I wanted to get another piercing, you know how it is!

I'd already got my first tattoo a few months ago. Although I already knew I wanted another one straight after the first one, I wasn't quite ready to get another one because I wasn't really sure about what I wanted so this seemed like a perfect solution!!

I read quite a few stories on BME about female nipple piercing and I decided that I really wanted it done. I know I have a high pain threshold so the pain wasn't really a factor for me, because you kind of know it's going to hurt just a bit. I'd spoken to a couple of friends of mine who have got their nipples pierced and they described the pain to me, and it didn't really put me off. I think if you know you really want something done you just go for it and don't think about anything else.

I work shift work so one day after I'd finished at 2pm I made the decision that today was the day. I didn't tell anyone beforehand because I wanted it to be my little secret really! I knew my parents wouldn't approve so I just went ahead with it anyway, there was no point in saying anything as they would never find out anyway.

So off I went...It was only a 20 mile journey to the place I was getting my new piercing and I knew where I was going as I've often walked past and looked in the window. So I parked up and made my way up there. I was pretty sure there were female piercers in there so I was hoping that there would be someone available to sort me out!

They were very friendly in the studio as I think they could see I was getting a by nervous by now. I asked them how much it would be to get my nipple pierced and she said it would be thirty five pounds with a titanium bar...so that was it. I filled in my details and showed them my I.D. and everything was fine. I'd decided that I wanted just my right nipple pierced for now. I know it's common for girls to get them both done but I decided that I liked the idea of having just one done.

So I stripped down to my bra, and she measured my nipple so she could get the bar the correct size, and I chose just a plain gold bar. By now I knew that this was really going to happen! She marked my nipple with some ink and asked me to lie down on the bench. First of all she clamped my nipple, it wasn't too bad just a bit uncomfortable. Then she used some sort of freezing spray, then bang, the needle was put straight through. It was more like an intense burning sensation than a painful one. I looked down to see the needle through my nipple which was quite strange. She sorted out the bar and put it through, and i think this part hurt the most and that was it. I felt quite light headed at this point so I got up slowly and looked in the mirror...I loved it! After the adrenaline started to ware off it did start to sting a bit, but once I was home I could relax. It did sting for a couple of days afterwards but this faded eventually. I still have to sleep in a sports bra whilst it is healing. I can't wait for the healing process to finish now so I can use my new piercing to its advantage. Having your nipple pierced really improves the sensation that you get. If your thinking about having your nipple or nipples pierced just go for it, it's not worth thinking about the pain!! I hope my story has helped you to make a decision, but the trouble now is what do I get done next? I'm thinking about getting my left nipple pierced now so they match. The left one does look a bit sad and unloved! I'm thinking about getting this done very soon and at least I know what to expect!

I'm also trying to make my mind up about what tattoo I want next, or I may even get something else pierced, because I think I have caught the bug!! I'll keep you updated on any future mods...keep smiling!
