I've never had a single piercing in my life. Ear piercings never really appealed to me and my parents weren't into letting me get what I always wanted: my lip. The thing about piercings is this: Some people have parents that don't let you get piercings so you think "When I'm 18, I'll do it!" but the problem is that when you turn 18, you need a job and most places aren't okay with facial piercings. I graduated from High School a few months back and am looking for a job so I knew I couldn't get my lip pierced. I had been throwing around the idea of getting my nipples pierced but never thought I'd actually do it. I'm not one to be comfortable with my body enough to just show my tits to anyone. Plus I have a wonderful but super overprotective boyfriend so that made it a bit hard. One day I decided I wanted it done and he said it was fine if a girl did it. This was fine with me because Michelle had done my tattoo. We decided on Friday.

So on Friday we went to Wendys (same place we went before I got my tattoo) so I wouldn't have to worry about passing out. Before I knew it, we were at Impaled. I love Impaled. I've gotten a tattoo there and my boyfriend has gotten three. It's also the place where all my friends go as well as my sister. When we walked in Michelle asked if she could help me and I simply said "Yeah, I wanna get my nipples pierced." I think this shocked Sean (my boyfriend) because I'm a really shy person. Aaron who does piercings there told me some information as I filled out the paperwork and then he helped me pick out the barbells. He also explained that when they do nipples they do a "double whammy." The phrase made me a giggle a bit. What it means is that there are two piercers, one for each nipple. This was weird to me because I've read so many stories and not once had I heard of someones nipples being pierced at the very same time. It made me happy though because I had heard from everyone that the second one hurts more. I looked at Sean to ask if he was okay with it and he said it was fine.

Aaron brought us back to the room and explained the sterilization to us. When he was done he simply said "Well, show me your boobs." which sort of made me laugh. I wore a tank top that day on purpose so I could just pull it down instead of taking it right off and also so I didn't have to worry about a bra. He rubbed something on my nipples and I don't remember what it was but it tickled...a lot! He marked my nipples, I checked, all was well. He called out the door for Michelle or Mike to come do the other one. I was a little surprised when Mike came. Michelle was working on a tattoo. Sean had told me I could get them done if a girl did it but instead it was two guys. Haha. Mike explained that they do a 1,2,3 and then at the same time, they would pierce my nipples. I leaned back a little bit and grabbed Sean's hand. Aaron started counting and on three, I felt a needle in each one of my nipples. It was by far one of the weirdest feelings I've ever had in my life. It wasn't all that painful, just different. They slipped in the barbells and then Mike left. Aaron put the balls on and I was finished. I looked in the mirror and I loved it. He explained the aftercare and we went out to the lobby so we could pay.

That was Friday and today is Wednesday. I'm loving my piercings. When I wash them, I just kind of stare in the mirror because I've never seen metal in my skin and I think it's very beautiful. Sean is the only one who has seen them and him being a boy, loves them. Healing is quite sucky for me and him because of the no contact thing but in the end, it will be worth it.

I haven't had any problems with them. Once in a while one will randomly hurt but it's nothing big and it's to be expected with a piercing.

I love my piercings! If you are thinking about getting them done, just do it. I thought about it for so long and now I wish I would've done it right when I turned 18. Just because you're shy is no excuse at all. I am one of the shyest people you will ever meet and I did it. Just make sure you get it done at a very clean place. If the people or the place makes you feel uncomfortable, leave. Why would you let someone you don't feel comfortable with put a needle through your skin?
