At home nipple piercing

When Two years ago
One night my boyfriend at the time and I were playing around with a needle while on hydrocodone. I already had one nipple pierced so he decided it would be a fun bonding experience if he did my other nipple. He had pierced his own nipple about a month previous to this and he did a good job with his, so I assumed it would be somewhat safe.

We didn't have a decent needle so we got the only sharp thing we could find in the house, a large sewing needle. I'm sure using a sewing needle as a piercing needle made my experience a bit more painful than it needed to be. This is a terrible way to get a new piercing, I know, but I was 17 at the time and my mom had already signed for my industrial, labret, tongue, and my navel. She told me if I wanted anymore to wait until I turned 18. Waiting wasn't something I was willing to do, hence having both my nipples pierced before the age of 18.

When we were finally mentally prepared for the piercing I washed the area with antibacterial soap. Then we burned the end of the needle and washed it with antibacterial soap. Everything was as clean as we could get it at home in the state that we were in. I held ice cubes on my nipple until I could barely feel any sensation. We quickly dried of my nipple, marked it to be even with the one I had pierced the year before, and we were ready to stick the needle through.

When the skin first broke it didn't hurt but since it was just a sewing needle it wouldn't properly break through all my skin. After numerous attempts to get the needle through it finally went through the other side with a hideous popping noise. I was in a lot of pain so I told him to leave it alone for a while; I went into the bathroom with the needle still through my nipple and washed it with antibacterial soap. There was very minimal bleeding at this point.

I then went back to my bed and told him to try to get the ring through. I had a 14 gauge CBR that had a cute little pink and white striped ball. He removed the needle and quickly put the ring in. There came the blood. A lot of bleeding was coming through the other side. Then there was a more serious problem. It wouldn't go through the other side. I could see the metal and a hole, but it would not actually go through. This sounds more painful than it actually was but he put the ball on anyways. There was enough metal sticking out to hold the ball in. We left it like that for the night and passed out.

The next day I went to my cousin's house and told her what had happened. She had quite a few piercings so I was comfortable showing it to her. I asked for help and she popped it through that last little bit of skin for me. I had no ice or hydrocodone for that, and it hurt pretty badly.

Amazingly enough it healed perfectly. I washed everything with antibacterial soap 2-3 times a day and left it alone as much as possible. It hurt for the first two weeks to take my bra off or put it on. Other than that they're great. I get compliments on my nipple rings all the time when people find out they were not done professionally. They're even and look great. They have made me a bit more confident with myself and my appearance.

The guy who did the piercing and I have since broken up, but it was an amazing bonding experience for us. It really helped build trust between the two of us. Once I turned 18 I moved on to tattoos for a while, but I'm 20 now and getting a new piercing in a few days. The guy who pierced my nipple and I are still friends and he will be doing my clit hood for me.

I do not recommend doing your own piercings or having a friend do your piercings in such sensitive areas like I have done/am doing again in a few days, but I will say it's a great bonding experience. I could go to a professional now since I'm over 18, but I want him to do it for me. I trust him so much after that and won't let anyone pierce me but him. I'll be doing his lip for him as well. We bought sterile piercing needles this time though so we're being a bit more clean about it this time. Hopefully my next experience goes as well as my nipple experience did and I'll have a new story to write on Wednesday. Please do not think that just because I did this at home with no problems that you can do the same. Piercing is not a good thing to take chances with, so if you aren't sure that it's safe, don't do it.
