Ever since I was a kid I have disliked my nipples. They are inverted and till I was 17 I had no idea what to do to get them out. Just before my 18th birthday I met my first piercer and teacher- Chris - and he told me that he could suck it out, using a pump and pierce it but to be careful doing this cause there could be more damage than good. This was in 1990 and not much information was out there, (in south Australia) for any of us to research. Chris got in contact with the guys from the Gauntlet and they told him to give it a go. I refused to be a guinea pig but I let him pierce my areola, just under the nipple, with a 14gu 12mm bar. I loved it and kept it right up until 2000 when I was very pregnant and my bosom had swollen so much that I could see the bar moving and stretching the hole and hurting. So I took it out and for the next 18 months I breast fed my young one. My nipples came out so far I was amazed and very happy.
At A Glance Author tricia When A year ago Artist Sandi Studio Body Cult Piercing Studio Location Adelaide, South Australia We then come to a very hot summer day and my boobs were huge with milk and I was tired from feeding thru the night and so I felt that I was finally ready to stop feeding - 2002. I went to a piercer who I have heard good things about - Carol at the Body Art Shop - and she was so lovely. Carol sat with me chatting about the history of my nipple and she was so excited for me. She understood the emotional pain of wanting to give up feeding, but being exhausted from it. We spoke of our kids and our lives for about ½ hr before the piercing started. She had put the jewellery in to be sterilized as we spoke and finally it was ready but we were still chatting. Finally I said "come on lets do this" and she smiled and agreed. My right nipple would only come out ¼ way by its self so I pulled it out and she measured me up and explained that because the nipple wants to go back in, she could pierce it really deep but the nipple will just try and pull it back in and that could be painful, same if she pierced it ½ way. But if she did it ¼ way then it my not pull back in. take my pick. I opted for ½ way and we discussed the idea that the scar that forms may keep it out later if I take the jewellery out. So away we went with the procedure. It was painful but quick and it looked beautiful. 14gu 14mm barbell. I don't like rings much as I catch them on other jewellery I thought it may feel heavier on my huge bosom. I got very dizzy and felt that I couldn't stand up so Carol got me a can of coke and we sat chatting about life for another ½ hr. I really enjoyed the experience with her and will go back.
I went home and flashed my new piercing to all I felt comfortable doing so and was very pleased. I could feel the pull of the nipple trying to go back in. I have a very bright son and as I had been explaining to him that I was tired from feeding him and my boobs were tired too, I had a chat with him and showed him my nipple. He was adorable (as always) and gently touched my breast, stroked me and nodded, "all gone". He dealt with the next few days like any toddler giving up the yummy bosom, but I felt much better for it and my nipple was healing wonderfully. Until that awful day when I caught it on a bracelet in the shower and made it bleed. The nipple so desperately tried to disappear into its home and it hurt like a bitch for the next week. I could not take it any more so I took it out and it was like my nipple and whole breast heaved a sigh of relief. I went back and saw Carol and explained what happened and she understood. Funny enough though the scar kept the nipple out!
Roll on august 2004. I was at a kids birthday party and met Sandi. She was opening a piercing shop in the city and heard that I could pierce. Did I want a job? Yes I can pierce and sure I'll have a job. It was too good an offer to pass up. I have always been the piercer in the group but not taken it very far. I pierced all the boys at school, then Chris taught me the needle and forceps method, and freehand methods about 13 years ago. I mostly pierced my friends and friends of friends, ears, eyebrows, bellies and hoods. That was all I was ever asked for, but this is off the topic.
Xmas 2004 and Body Cult Piercing Studio is open for business. My Boss Sandi is a very loud, passionate person who loves her job and is very good at it. Her methods are in line and up to date with the latest techniques from here and over seas. I had seen her pierce many times and decided to get in the chair myself and finally get my nipple pierced as deep as it will go. Sandi already new my history and inspected my nipple again. "Yes lets go deep" she said with a big grin, she does all her nipple deep and they work out beautiful. She told me that because of the depth its going to hurt, and because I still have milk (yes after all that there's sill milk) that it will leak tiny amounts that will mix with plasma, and crust. It may take more or less time healing depending on how my body takes to the piercing. Sandi took her time to mark the placement and lucky it was a cold night so my nipple stood right out for her. It was interesting being on this side of the counter with her. I see and hear the loud part of Sandi most of the time, but when she's piercing I'm usually cleaning or serving other customers, talking to the friends or family of the customer in the chair. So to be in the chair was a great experience. She got all serious and quiet, taking me thru all the procedures she was doing, talking to me about aftercare and bra choice for the next few weeks. I had heard this so many times and even taken others thru it but she still made sure I understood it all b4 she would do this to me. I loved it. Then she said "ok, ready?" I was and she put the forceps on and she told me to breath and hold still, I did and OW! That hurt but it was over very quickly. No dizzy this time, but a rush of adrenaline and endorphins, YES!. A 14gu 14mm barbell and so deep there is no way the nipple was going back in. Sandi cleaned me up, only a little blood and put a patch over it.
8 months later and I still have it and its lovely. Thanx Sandi. At certain times of the month when I'm ovulating my nipple gets crusty with milk and plasma, but it only lasts 4 days and then its lovely again. It has increased the size of my nipple but its great, its doesn't go in when soft and when its hard its so pointy...I love it. I want to get the other one soon, but I'm waiting to get my horizontal hood next, and I want a new tattoo soon as well, so the nipple can wait for a few months.
