I'd been thinking about getting another piercing for a while (in addition to my nostril, industrial and both of my tragus'). Each piercing was done for a certain reason...at a certain time in my life. I decided to get my nipples done as a gift to myself...to adorn my body. I love being a woman and think my breasts are beautiful so why not decorate them?

I decided upon Tribal Ways after talking with some people and doing some research. I was heading up there to visit with my two best girlfriends and figured it was the perfect time. I let them both know that on that Saturday afternoon the plan was to get pierced. They were both super supportive and were just as excited as I was.
Saturday came and we went to the studio where I was greeted by the tattoo artist and office manager. I wished I remembered their names. Everyone was amazing. I paid for the piercings and sat to discuss the aftercare procedure. It seemed pretty easy...2 weeks of washing with Ivory soap, 15-20 minute salt soaks and a dousing of Bactine, twice a day. After the two weeks, continue with the washing and soaks for 3 months. If I wanted to change the rings, I could do so after the three months.
At that point, I was really giddy. I found myself getting excited and really energetic. I wasn't scared at all... I was full of adrenaline. While I was sitting there, I kept thinking how fun the experience was going to be. Claiming my body and having my girls in the room with me! There was someone in the room and they took a woman who was changing her navel ring before me. The build up to getting them done was almost as good as the high afterwards. Finally it was my turn. My piercer was AMAZING!!! I only wish I wrote him name down but I could describe him if needed.
I walked into the room and my girls hung out near the door and out of the way. They were just as giggly as I was...with the camera out! My piercer explained the procedure to me and we went over the step by step of what he was going to do. He showed me the hoops he was using (14G) and that the reason why the diameter was slightly larger then I wanted (my nipples are a healthy size). He used a nice size sterling bead to make sure it was secure for the healing process. Then he had me stand up with my hands at my sides (after he wiped the nips down and made them erect) so he could mark where the piercings would go.
I sat down and we did a few cleansing breaths together. I told him why I was getting them pierced and he told me how women's nipples were his favorite to pierce as he is Wiccan and the breasts represent the energy of the Goddess. It was the perfect environment for me to get them done! My girls were standing just out of the way with a perfect picture taking view. After he got the clamp on, we were ready to go. I took three deep breaths as he counted and on the third breath I let it all out and in went the needle. It was more of a warming sensation and putting the ring in was a bit more painful then the piercing. We did the second one and before I knew it, they were both done & I was looking at them in the mirror with my girls telling me how wonderful and hot they looked! All day I felt truly alive and charged. I wanted to show everyone what I did. Instead, when I got back to my friend's place, we took a ton of photos and I emailed them to the guy I was dating...he would appreciate them as he has 15 piercings.
That was 6 weeks ago. I went into a piercing studio today and had the beads changed to a smaller ones...these are sterling with crystals in them. So Sexy! They seem to be healing well. The piercer I saw today said they look good. I haven't had too much crustiness and I've been very good with not touching them too much w/o washing my hands. I've been wearing tank tops with built in bra's to sleep as my breasts are on the larger size and I want the support so the piercings don't get to irritated while I sleep. I switch between padded and non-padded depending on what I'm wearing as sometimes I'm not in a place where I want the piercings to show. But now that I have the smaller beads, I don't have to wear the padded bras at all.
Piercing my nipples was one of the greatest experiences I've had and like my piercer said, the energy coming from them and from me will only bring good things. My self-confidence has shot up and I enjoy being a woman more than ever. Not to mention, totally hot as I walk down the street knowing that they are pierced and only showing the select few!
