A few months ago I read an experience on this web page of a woman talking about her nipple piercing and how it was used to fix her inverted nipple. I had wanted my nipple pierced for a long time, but never thought that I could because my nipples are inverted. After reading this story, I decided to look into the piercing some more.

They were very helpful and told me all the possible complications with this piercing. They explained to me that the bar would hold the nipple out and when it was fully healed the nipple would remain that way for a while, but that there was a chance that it may become inverted again. I wasnt really worried about this because I lived with inverted nipples for 19 years of my life, if I had to eventually go back to that it wouldnt really bother me.
When I went in for the piercing the woman was very polite and considerate. She knew that it took special care for piercing inverted nipples and she took the time to explain the procedure in detail and things I may encounter as my piercing began to heal. Because my nipple was so strongly inverted she recommended that I get a bar that is slightly long so it would stick out slightly farther than my nipple to avoid the slight possibility that the bar and ball could possibly grow inside of the nipple creating an absess that requires surgery to remove.
After everything had been explained to me I told her that there were a few tricks to making my nipple stand on end and I showed her that by pulling on the skin around my nipple it would stand out more. Then I told her that I wanted to have my piercing done diagonally pointing down and in. I had never seen anyone who had theirs pierced like that, but it just so happened that she had hers done that way also. This made me much more comfortable with the way I was getting it done because I knew that she knew what I wanted.
I then took my shirt off and got ready. She cleaned my nipple and then waited a few minutes before wiping the cleaning cream off. Then she gave me a nipple massage to work out any impurities in the blood or in the tissue of my nipple. This was a little awkward, but I think that it was simply because I was a little bit worked up for this and therefore the blood was flowing pretty good. After I was all clean and the tissue was cleansed of impurities she marked my nipple with little black dots to show me where the piercing would enter and exit. After that she chose the bar according to the length we had agreed on earlier. I looked in the mirror and decided that I was happy with the placement of the dots and then she instructed me to lie back in the chair.
She opened all her equippment and assured me that it was all clean and fresh. As she was getting everything ready she kept me calm and breathing steadily. After a few breaths she had me take a very deep breath and blow it out quickly. As I was blowing it out she pushed the needle through my nipple and before I knew it, everything was done. It stung a little, but then it was all over. After giving me the aftercare instructions she gave me a panty liner to put inside my bra in case there was any bleeding. Over the entire healing period I never saw any blood, but I know that it is not unlikely to bleed after being pierced.
After I was all dressed again she wrote down all my jewelry information and gave me a pamphlet of aftercare information and then some sea salt to soak daily for a few weeks. The aftercare was to make sure to clean it with anti-bacterial soap and keep it clean. I followed the aftercare pretty well and everything went great. I did clean it every day, at least once a day. I did not however do the sea salt soaks as often as I should have, but things went well anyway. In a few days there was absolutely no pain and I was able to continue all my normal activities. I chose not to work my bar back and forth while cleaning because of the possibility that the soap would not be fully removed from the bar inside my nipple. Overall it was a great experience and I would reccomend anyone who is thinking about getting a nipple piercing, inverted or not, that you go through with it.
