I had my ears pierced when I was five and for pretty much my whole life, that was my only piercing. Sure, I always thought it would be cool to get my navel pierced but my mom always said no. A friend introduced me to BME when I was 17 and from then on, I was fully addicted. I ended up stumbling on nipple piercings and I was in love. I loved they way they looked. But I knew it was something I would never do. Sure, they were cute on other people, but for me nipple rings were like a shirt at the mall you see that is cute but could never wear yourself. From then on, I had nipple rings on the mind. I was constantly thinking what I would look like with them. If I saw people with them, I couldn't help but stare. Back then, I was very modest too. I was not to cool with the idea of showing a complete stranger my boob. Then I met Heather.

I went in one day to talk to an artist about my tattoo and we started chatting. She was nice, funny, and we hit it off immediately. I confessed that I had been thinking about nipple piercings but couldn't really see myself ever seriously getting them. She told me that she herself had them done but she had retired them. But when she did have them, she had loved them. I talked to Dennis (the tattooist) about my tattoo and left. After that, I knew I had to get my nipples pierced; I just had to get over the fact that I was going to be sticking a 14-gauge needle through a part of my body that I happened to like very very much.
I was working at McDonald's at the time and was talking to one of my friends at work about getting it done. She loved the idea and said I should do it. I went on break that night and for some reason just knew, I had to do it. I had the money so why not. So I left work and drove to the shop (like 3 minutes away). I walked in and told Heather I was there to get my right nipple pierced. I was glad that the shop was empty, I am sure I would have walked out was it not. She gave me the paperwork while she started setting up.
The first thing she did after I had de-clothed from the waist up was mark the placement on my nipples. This required a lot of sitting and standing so she could make sure it would be even. As I feel the need to ask about a billion questions about everything, she explained everything to me. She told me the clamps would help with the placement. Showed me the jewelry (a 14 gauge curved bar bell). And after that, we began.
The worst part of a nipple piercing is the clamps. They are just way too uncomfortable for my liking, and I can just visualize the clamps being dropped and my poor nipple being ripped off. Anyways, she told me to take a few deep breaths, then she said one more in, and when I exhaled, she pushed the needle through. There was a lot of swearing as she pushed the needle through. I think that most of this was from my expecting the pain rather than the actual pain. It wasn't exactly painful; it was more of a burning sensation. To be more exact it felt like my damn nipple was on fire. She told me that the she was done, and I looked down. It was the strangest thing to see a needle in my nipple. She let me chill for a minute and then we but the jewelry in. this was more uncomfortable than painful. I could feel the needle sliding out and the jewelry in and then the bead was on and we were done. I paid, got dressed, tipped Heather, and went back to work.
All my friends at work could not believe that I had just randomly went and got my nipple pierced. So we all gathered in the break room and I showed them. My friend Jessica loved it so much that she went and got hers done very soon after that.
There was a little bleeding, but Heather said that was to be expected. And the healing was insanely short. This was my first piercing (yes my first piercing was my nipple, I know I rock!) so I didn't know what to really expect. I did the sea salts like heather told me too and my nipple was completely healed in no kidding less than two weeks. That was the start of a long long addiction to body modification.
