Almost exactly one year ago, I walked into Division Tattoo, located in Madison Heights, Michigan. I had my heart set on getting my tragus pierced for quite some time now and I thought this would be the day. However, when I got inside the shop my heart just was not into it anymore. I do not know why, but I wanted something more; something more drastic. I had to get a more extreme piercing. But what? What piercing could I get that would fulfill my hearts desire? I thought about it for a while, thinking of all the possible piercings that I could get. Debating back and forth, not coming up with anything. Then it finally hit me. I had to get my nipples pierced. Why I had not thought of it before was beyond me. Yes, that was it; the perfect piercing.

I definitely decided on the nipples and he had me fill out the appropriate paper work and he got a copy of my license. It only took a few minutes at the counter and then I was directed to the room where I would be getting my piercing. It was a little room towards the back of the shop; a little more private than the other stations in the front of the shop. I wanted both of my nipples pierced but I heard from several people that getting your nipples pierced hurt really really bad. Therefore, I had two people pierce them at the same time, one person for each nipple. I did it this way just in case the first one hurt so bad that I would not want to go through the pain again! And I definitely wanted both of them pierced so I did not want to take that chance.
So, back in the room one of the piercers explained the whole procedure to me, that first he would mark them, then clamp them, and then he and the other piercer would push the needle through at the same time. He also explained the aftercare to me, how to clean the piercings and about how long they would take to heal. So finally came the part where I had to take my shirt off. I must admit this was a little awkward at first, taking my shirt off in front of two perfect strangers. However, the guys were perfectly cool about the whole thing, being professionals and all. This made me calm down a ton and I soon became comfortable with the situation. I sat down in the chair and one of the piercers made the marks and put the clamps on. Then he and the other piercer were all ready with the needles. They told me to breathe in and out, taking deep breaths. As I was taking my breaths, one piercer started counting: one, two, three..... And they were pierced, just as easy as that. I felt absolutely no pain. I did not flinch or anything. What a relief! I was so surprised at how easy of a piercing that was. Getting my nipples pierced was definitely an easier experience than I was expecting.
Now for the aftercare. The guys at the tattoo shop gave me a loose Tee-shirt to wear because when I went to the shop I was not expecting to get my nipples pierced. Therefore, I was wearing a tight shirt, not thinking anything of it. They said that I would not want to wear anything tight at first because my nipples would be a little sore but that I also needed to be really careful not to snag them on anything. I thought to myself, well the piercing did not hurt at all, how bad could the pain really get? Well, the guys left the little room in the back of the shop to give me some privacy to put the shirt on. While alone, I looked in the mirror at my new additions. I had definitely made the right decision. These 14 gauge rings hanging from each nipple were exactly what I had expected and wanted. Perfect!
I walked out of the little room a short time later, after putting the new Tee-shirt on and gathering up the shirt I had been wearing when I arrived at the tattoo shop. I went to the counter and paid the guys, thanking them and telling them how pleased I was with my new piercings. Then off I went, heading for home. Cleaning my nipples for the first time was a little rough. They were very sore and the rings just did not want to turn. Finally, I got them to turn and I was successful at giving them there first cleaning. After the first one, each cleaning got easier and easier and also less painful. However, I never really experienced much pain with this piercing and they healed wonderfully. It is a year later, I still have them in, and I love them just as much. I had a great experience with this piercing and I hope your experience goes as well as mine.
