My nipple experience...

The first piercing shop in the town I lived in. As I'd hope they have moved into modern times I'll spare the details of the piercer or the studio... but lets just say the procedure was "quick and dirty", aftercare instructions included little other than "wash them every day".
Paid, left, and began a rather quick healing process with 12ga circular barbells, despite the complete lack of care instructions (that I knew anyway... but would have just been too lazy at the time to follow... was kinda young and stupid).
Other than the left nipple migrating for a while, everything went well. As the piercings stretched, I changed to10ga CBRs.
The 10ga CBR's were left in for about a year... then had some issues with a hand-held metal detector in some crappy airport in Durango, Mexico. Had to take the rings out and put them into what I can only describe as a communal urinal/small items tray. As the security guards bared arms, and questionable tolerance of me- I quickly complied to the request. I figured that I could wash them off in the plane. Didn't figure the plane would be so small that it wouldn't have a bathroom... and so shady that I would be too preoccupied with wondering if a hand-written will would be sufficient... let alone if it would even be found when this duct-taped, rusted out, rigged together, flying relic (that oddly smelled of chickens and pickles) plummeted to the ground. To make things even worse: no liquor to sooth the fear actually going out in a flash, rather than fading away... all those jokes of "living like a rock star" sure seemed ironic all of a sudden.
Needless to say, the jewelry didn't go back in. By the time the ground had safely been reached (and kissed), I had forgotten all about 'em... rather, I was just so elated to actually still be alive...
By the next day, they were closed in enough that the CBR's wouldn't fit... and there was nothing suitable anywhere nearby to use until civilization was reached.
Fast forward to last month:
I take a drive over to So Cal Tattoo and Piercing, in San Pedro, CA... just had a craving for some new holes. Talk to the piercer (Terri Morgan) for a few minutes about what I want. She goes over any possible problems, aftercare, and options... before pokin' holes.
The nipples are cleaned and marked, I verify the placement, and the needle comes out. Clamps, a quick little pinch, left one is done. Same deal for the right. It was a completely painless procedure, from beginning to end. No real discomfort whatsoever.
I get 14ga CBR's, as I was told I don't have the anatomy for anything larger until they heal (unless I wanted to go deeper, below the erectile tissue). I guess not having the anatomy there wasn't too bad... just really glad I didn't hear that when getting my PA.
No bleeding at the time of the piercing, and not so much as one drop since. No crusties, no discomfort, nothing to the healing at all. I did sea salt soaks with each shower, so 2 or 3 a day (just love showers).
I will say that I was a little disappointed that there was none of the quasi-burning feeling that first day or so... really do like that.
Since the day of the piercing 'till today, the right nipple has been completely fine.
The left one, though... started migrating a week after the piercing. Spent about a week moving, and then stopped. Basically just got a little crooked, when viewed from the top. Spent a week or so looking good... then appeared to start migrating again. Decided since it is the same nipple that did some migration last time, it must have something to do with the way I sleep... which seems to be on my left side, in some f'ed up position half the time. Either that or the evil monkey that lives in my closet tugs on it in my sleep. Money's on the sleeping position, though, as I'm not entirely sure the monkey is still there.
I'm not entirely sure if the left nipple has ceased migration, but it seems good for now. For a couple days, there was some odd pain in the nipple, but it faded away.
As far as appearance, I'm quite happy with them. Waiting until I can gauge up a bit... would like to eventually go up to 6ga, if possible.
The sensation of my nipples has been greatly added to, with the piercings. The hot water of the shower feels wonderful... any purposeful contact is much more sensational than before, and any... rough... contact is just blissful. Before this, my right nipple was near free from any type of feeling. As of today, it is actually quite responsive to the slightest touch. I do fear this is because the piercings are relatively new, and it will fade over time... which would be a shame, as they feel great right now. Suppose if so, I could try to put a vertical behind the current horizontal... buy a little more time of fun.
