It all began when I was 16; I was beginning to notice body piercings. I remember seeing them on random people in town and I was beginning to think they looked hot! The girls in my class, many had got naval piercings and this encouraged me to get my first. I thought if they can manage then so can I. I particularly like nipple piercings and I figured that I could hide this from my Mum as I had no idea what she would say!

My friend had recently had hers done and we had talked before how we had both wanted it done. So one day I decided to finally just go through with it and I called her and we arranged to go into town. I was so nervous and I had no idea what to expect. My hands were shaking and I couldn't believe I was going through with it! We went to a place called Presents and I walked up the stairs into the room where all of the piercing equipment was. I talked to the guy and explained what I wanted and he said no problem. He asked if I had, had a lot of sugar to which I said no and he asked my friend if she would go to the shop next door and get me some Coca-Cola and a Mars bar. She came back and I ate and drank them. By this point I was terrified! He sat me down in the chair and marked the positioning on my left nipple as asked. I checked and told him I was happy with the positioning. He explained the procedure and clamped my nipple which hurt a little and then came the needle which was sore but bearable. He then pulled the barbell through and clasped it. It felt like that took ages and he seemed to be really rough with it, probably just me though! We left and went around the shops as I felt totally cool and ace after what I had just done.

I went home and the first thing I did was run upstairs to check out the damage. I looked at it and wasn't happy, there was nothing wrong with it, I just thought it looked funny on me. I left it and looked at it a few more times and still felt the same. I went to bed that night and had the most uncomfortable sleep in the world. Terrified I would knock it and hurt myself, I sleep on my front usually. I woke up and looked at it again and my feelings hadn't changed. I left it another day and decided it wasn't for me so I took the barbell out.

A few days passed and I tried to push the barbell back through although it had closed completely, I had begun to regret taking it out. About a year passed and I really fancied getting it done again but I thought I should wait until I am 18, for some random reason. After little thought about the issue I soon turned 18. Suddenly I seemed to cling back onto the idea of getting my nipple re-pierced. I decided to go with the same friend but instead to a different place called Richards where I had heard great reviews. Once again I went in and explained what I wanted. The women who was going to do the piercing was HOT, it made me smile. We chatted some and I made sure it was okay to get it re-pieced and she said it was no problem. All went well and I liked it this time, the lady was great who pierced it and very friendly, it made me far more relaxed than the first occasion.

About 6 months later after changing the balls on the barbell to spikes I experienced a very, VERY sore event! Apart from the fact the spikes were so sharp if I hit my nipple they would stab me and hurt, the also got caught on my clothes. It doesn't take much brain to figure change them back to balls but I loved the way it looked so I left it. Then one night while sleeping. I turned and caught the spike on my sheet! Ouch! That is the most pain I think I have ever felt! After a few minutes it wasn't so bad so I went back to sleep. A few days later a large blister like lump formed at the side of one of the holes. I left it about a week and then I got some bad news. While I was cleaning it my Mum and Dad came back from the hospital where my Grandpa had been taken in for a check-up, explained to me how he had passed away. I was devastated and it was so unexpected. I comforted my Mum and got angry about it. I took out the barbell again.

A few months passed again and after my nipple had healed I decided to get it redone. My friend thought I was a complete idiot 3 times? I figured 3rd time lucky. But this time I decided to get both done, and be extra fun and get one diagonal! What a rebel? I decided to go to Retro Rebels after hearing some excellent reviews of there from some friends. I called a friend and arranged to meet them. I wasn't so sure I was going to get both done that day as I really struggled to remember how bad it really was for one. I went into the show and explained what I was looking for and they said cool. I waited a while as there were quite a few people there. I met Darryl and talked some with him then he took me into the piercing room. I sat down and we talked some more about his modifications and BMEzine. It was great he was such an interesting guy. I took off my shirt and explained how my left nipple had been pierced twice before. He felt it to see what the scar tissue was like inside, he said it was really bad and told me that scar tissue is much more tender to pierce than normal tissue. After some discussion we decided that if we did that one at an angle it wouldn't be quite as painful! He asked me which one I wanted pierced first I thought the left to get it out of the way! All the way through he explained to me how if I only wanted one it was no problem and I could come back and get the second another time, it was great I felt that he really cared about how I was feeling and what I wanted. Much better than feeling like you just a customer and they are looking to make as much money as possible. Retro Rebels are not like that at all! It stung like a complete ***** and then came the blood which poured out like a tap. He asked if I had been out the night before, I answered a quiet 'yes' embarrassed. He explained how alcohol thins the blood which is why it was bleeding so much. I was a little worried but he said it will be okay. He laughed and said how I must have had a lot to drink! Eventually it stopp "\Ãw"ë ed bleeding and he asked if I wanted the other done today. Yea I replied. He pierced it, not as bad as the first. I was relieved. He showed me them in the mirror and I liked how they looked. We then had another chat about other piercings and he suggested some other things I could get done, it was great.

Well that's the story of my third time lucky. I have had my nipples pierced this time for almost 6 months and they have healed well. I like them and would highly recommend Retro Rebels for anyone in Aberdeen looking to get a piercing completely.

Also I will also recommend that you do not drink alcohol the night before of on the day. It did scare me a little but all turned out fine. Whilst it's not life threatening, it is a little embarrassing as I must have bled for about 15mins each one. My friend thought I had died. Also if you want something pierced go for it, maybe leave the jewelry in a little longer than I did to decide you don't like it, it might save you 2 extra piercings than you need! Sorry I didn't mean to write as much as this, Thanks!!!
