For almost 7 years, I was giving nipple piercings some serious considerations. When I was first exposed to it, I saw it on rock stars like Axl Rose, Lenny Kravitz, or Tommy Lee. I was like, "It's too nasty!" I mean, don't get me wrong. I love Guns N' Roses, and I'm a huge Axl Rose fan, but I still though that putting a hole through a nipple was totally unnecessary. But then I started to date this girl who had one of her's done, and that made appreciate it, and eventually, I started to crave for them. But the only thing is, I never actually got them in those years. It was always at a point where either I was ready for them but I was broke, or I'd have enough saved but I wasn't ready for them. I always read various stories on the net, and also have gotten lots of negative feedback from various people who had theirs done, which stalled me from getting them.

He was pretty much pierced up everywhere, and he'd try to get every one of his colleagues into piercings. I just asked him a question about nipple piercings, and he gave some positive feedback on them. This was where I learned that most of the other piercers who work at well-known shops are not very good at their work. This was the main reason why I spoke with many unhappy customers earlier. They just happened to go to the wrong shop and the piercer was not as good as he/she is supposed to be. He also told me to get a bigger gauge, definitely bigger than 14g. He told me to go to this piercer named Dan, and he told me that I probably wouldn't find a better piercer in town. After looking at his piercings, I was like "this guy pierces well." So it was now decided that I would be going to Dan for nipple piercings.
I was still trying to stall the date till a friend of mine decided to get hers done. I was still not completely ready, but decided to do it on the same day she was getting hers done because I figured that if she is ready for them, I am ready for them. So we decided the right date for it. We were gonna go to Lower Eastside, which is a shop that's closer to our neighborhood, but Dan had to be at a tattoo convention on that day, so we decided to go to that convention to meet Dan, then get them pierced at Abstract Arts, which is another shop where Dan works P/T, and this shop is closer to where the convention was. We walked into the shop, all nervous. My friend wanted to go first. I was reluctant about this because I kind of wanted to be pierced before her, and then watch her get pierced, but I guess I had to give in. So we then decided on the sizes. My friend decided to go with 10g CBRs, and I had already made up my mind about getting 8g CBRs. I was also told that mine was gonna be scalpelled. So while she was getting pierced, I was nervously watching. I was like, "mine's gonna be like that, but maybe more painful."
So, once he was done with her, I had to take my shirt off. He marked both my nipples and then set up everything for the procedure. He started with my right one. It did pinch my nipple a lot more than expected when he clamped it. He then brought out the scalpel, told me to take a deep breath in, and then exhaled when he pierced me. I didn't feel much. He then put the taper through, which kind of hurt a bit. He then followed that with the ring. He then did the same to my left one, but this one hurt a little more because I was expecting the pain this time. Once he was done, I looked in the mirror and was like "Not only am I pierced, but the rings make me look bad-ass!!"
Dan gave us the aftercare instructions, and specifically told me, since I have really long kick ass hair, to be extra careful in the shower when washing my hair. After finishing up everything, we went back to the convention. The walk back was relatively slower because on the new piercings.
It's now been over a month and they're healing great. My friend's piercings are doing good too. Well, besides a "walking into a pole" accident, and a "getting my hair tangled into it" accident, I've taken very good care of them. I guess I have come a long way in 7 years. I went from craving for a 14g nipple ring to getting 2 8g nipple rings. All I have to say is they're looking great, and I got Dan to thank for. If anyone is in Toronto and wants to get a piercing, I'd definitely recommend Dan.
