The thought of piercing my nipple had been on my mind for some time. I had gone to a tattoo convention in New Orleans in 1990 and met a woman from Maryland who had lots of piercings everywhere. At first I saw her tongue piercing. She and I talked and naively asked her "why?" I honestly didn't get it. She then took her tongue and moved it around her open lips and said, "use your imagination". To which I almost came on the spot. I got it. We talked lots more and she was more than happy to show me all of her piercings. She had her nose pierced side and septum as I recall and about 30 genital piercings. She had inner labia, her outer labia, hood... you name it .. it was pierced.

I had not even seen a belly button pierced and the only nose piercing I had ever seen were on women from India. Which always fascinated me too.
The only other time I had ever come across body piercings was in Florida where I live. There I came across a piercer at Daytona Bike Week named Lynn Keen. As far as I know she was the only body piercer in Florida at the time. I think that is a pretty accurate statement. She lived in or maybe still does live in Orlando. I haven't seen her in many years.
She was doing some piercings in the pool table area at a bar near Main Street in Daytona Beach during Bike Week. I approached her and we talked a lot about it and she gave me an education indeed.
She and I communicated for a while and I later found out she was coming to Ft Lauderdale at a date in the near future. So I coordinated a time to meet with her during her visit to south Florida. Being the only piercer in the state I think she was making rounds at a lot of tattoo shops all over teaching people how to pierce. I'm not sure where she got her training.
So the day came when she arrived and I went to this tattoo shop I think was called Outrageous Tattoos in Ft Lauderdale. I'm not sure it is there anymore. It may have relocated. That day I was privileged to meet two wonderful people & excellent tattoo artists: Uncle Skully and Nina Rose, who was his apprentice at the time.
Uncle Skully moved on to the Boynton Beach, Florida area for a while and I think he has since left there for some place up north. Not sure. Nina Rose remains a good friend to this day and tattoos out of Bruce Bart Irezumi Ink in Pompano Beach, Florida. Nina Rose got her belly button pierced by Lynn the same day I had my nipple done.
Every thing was set up and the procedure went quick. She sterilized the area, marked the entry and exit holes for the piercing needle and then clamped off my nipple. Yeowwww ... that was the worst part. Honestly the actual piercing itself was a piece of cake compared to the clamp. Almost no pain at all.
If you are thinking about getting a piercing, I think if you can stand the pain of the clamp, the piercing will be easy to you. The pain of the piercing was just a quick sting and boom it was over. Not nearly as bad as hours under the tattoo needles.
I had that nipple piercing for only a few of years, as it seemed it would never quite totally heal up. I'd like to think that my ex-wife just wouldn't leave it alone long enough and kept contaminating it with her tongue, which probably had something to do with it, but I also found that as I rode my Harley Davidson Lowrider around the state the wind blowing on my torso would make that little ring flip up and down .... and methinks that had something to do with it as well. I think it just would not be still long enough and stayed irritated. Back then I don't think we knew what really good aftercare was. It was all so new.
My ex-wife went on to have both her nipples done later by Elaine "Angel" at a San Diego Tattoo Convention in 93 that we attended for a vacation.
I sure do love those nipple rings on beautiful female breast... The best is catching a glipse of the little bead along with the nipple itself bearing out against a nice tight tank top. A view that has become quite common anywhere you go these days in sunny south Florida. Yes, I am male and yes red blooded and yes, I am a lustful dog.
I will never forget when my son accidentally discovered my nipple jewelry. He simply ran into the bedroom unannounced and I had no shirt on. My son who must have been 7 or 8 at the time, didn't say a word. In fact he seemed to have not noticed, but then he ran to his older sister in another part of the house, who was probably about 10, and I heard him whisper to her, "dad has and earring in his boobie"!! My daughter eventually caught mom coming out of the shower one day and made another big discovery with her nipple rings.
As an interesting side effect of my nipple piercing is that my left nipple enlarged, I suppose due to the build up of scar tissue. Even after I took it out, it became quite sensitive to the touch, as oppose to my right nipple which is small and flat, and not responsive at all to anything sensitivity-wise. I guess the piercing woke up a lot of pleasurable nerve endings. So to this day, years after I removed it about 1994, a little licking and sucking on that left nipple get's "little Jimis" attention real quick.
I went on to have my back fully tattooed next.
I'm actually thinking about doing it again now. Or maybe the right one to balance them out. Time for some more body play.
