I am in my mid forties and have tended to be rather conservative in my life.I was self employed in the white goods industry (repairing washing machines, dishwashers, etc) until 4 years ago when I stopped due to health problems.I never had anything done to my self before,as I was concerned how my customers would feel about me.Now I don't work any more I decided to be myself and take the plunge and be more daring.

This is an account of My First Real Body Piercing.I had both of my ears pierced at the Essential Beauty studio on the 18th of June(Friday).I was so thrilled with how I looked and then decided that I wanted more done.Having me nipples pierced was to me my First Real Body Piercing because they use a needle and not a piercing gun.

On the following Monday 21st of june my wife went to get her nose pierced.I had not told her of my plan to get my nipples pierced. She was very supportive about it when I told her,as I did not know how she would feel about it.We went and had a coffee while she settled her nerves from having her nose pierced.

I had no real idea what was going to be involved BUT I wanted it.We went in and told the girl on the counter what I wanted, and was told they could fit me in a few minutes later. While waiting we looked at the range of rings and bars.I loved the look of the Titanium rings so chose a pair of them.A few minutes I was taken in to the room and removed my shirt in preparation. The girl (I don't know her name)I'm dreadful with names looked at my nipples and said I had "tiny nipples".She suggested a smaller gauge ring than I had originally chosen then put them in a solution to sterilize till she used them. Then she wiped my nipples with an alcohol wipe, then marked where the rings would go.I said they looked fine then lay back for the procedure to begin. The instruments were all taken from a sterilized pack .The clamp was put on my left nipple first and squeezed. When she put the needle through it stung a little but was no where near as I thought it might be.The ring going in was not too bad either. Now for my right nipple. She applied the clamp as before still ok,when the needle was going in this time it felt like drilling for oil with a blunt drill. The pain was a lot more intense but not unbearable.I knew it was a new needle and said so,but it seems the skin on my right side is tougher to get through. The ring went in with no dramas, there was a few drops of blood but nothing to worry about though. When I sat up and looked at my self in the mirror I was ecstatic with my new look.

The after care they advised was to use Ultra Hygienic cleaner to clean them twice a day, then after a week to use Listerine antibacterial mouth wash for a few weeks, then to use salt water .I had no problems with them apart from them being ultra sensitive for the first week.I put Band-aids on at night for the first week so they did not get pulled in my sleep. One nice side effect apart from my wife loving my new look is that my nipples have got bigger.

I plan to get bigger size rings when these have healed and toughened up.I will get Titanium again as a suffer from Psoriasis a genetic skin problem, that commonly occurs on the knees and the elbows but can occur any where on your body.It can also occur at an injury site so thats why I chose Titanium as it's not reactive like some metals.

Since I have had my nipples pierced I have had my nose pierced (twice in one day),but that's another story.Do I recommend body piercing Yes I do.I now wish I had done this before, body piercing is certainly addictive,I am now considering genital ones as well.I am not too sure what ones to go for yet ,I don't know if I could go through with a PA,even though they make a statement,so will have to keep saving up for the moment to be able to afford more.

Our son who is 6 does not seem fazed by his daddy having body jewelry in him but I don't know what my parents will think when they finally see them .It's a nice feeling feeling having this done knowing that a lot of people would be surprised if they knew.I have shown a few people and they weren't sure what to make of it.

My experience of having had a body piercing feels like a rite of passage in my life.

I highly recommend Essential Beauty to anyone wanting a piercing as they make you feel very secure with their hygiene and studio cleanliness, also they are all very friendly staff, and helpful which is hard to find nowadays.

thanks.Brian.
