I decided one night after breaking up with my boyfriend that I wanted to release some of the anger that I had inside of me, so my friends and I were deciding on what I should do. I already have a tattoo and I didn't want any piercing on my face. I never was into the tongue piercing thing so that was out of the question. The belly button fad was gone so I had no desire for that any more. I thought about piercing my clit but then I thought of the pain and went against that. I decided that I wanted to pierce my nipples.

One of my other friends had them done and I really liked the way they looked. She had them pierced vertically and I had not seen very many people with them pierced that way, so I decided to pierce them that way. We called the body modification store and set up an appointment for me to go later on that night.

The time came and I was PUMPED. I walked into the store showed my ID paid for the piercing, jewelry etc. Got the instructions on care and stuff like that. I went in the room and one of my friends went with me for support. The piercer asked me to take off my shirt and stand up. He marked where he will pierce me and asked me to lie on the table. I lay down and then I started think "oh my I am really going to do this". He told me to take a deep breath in, at that moment I felt a small pinch in my right nipple, and then he asked me to exhale. Then he asked me to take a deep breath in again, then I felt another pinch a little more intense but not bad in my left nipple, then he asked me to exhale again. That was it they were done I got up and looked at them in the mirror. My left nipple bled a little so we put a bandage on it. The piercer asked me to come back once they were healed so he could take a picture, because he had never done a nipple piercing that way and he wanted to bu t the picture in his booklet. I fell in love with my piercing immediately. We left and on the way home I just kept looking at them in the visor mirror. I went home and showed my brother, he told me that I was crazy. I had friends over my house and I showed them off a little more.

The healing process wasn't that bad either, no pain really. I got a lot of discharge a lot of discharge from my right one. I kept them clean by washing them with anti bacterial soap and sterile saline solution. I still had to get used to having the piercing when I was putting on my clothes, because when I put on a shirt or put on a bra they would get pulled because they were vertically pierced. Eventually I got used to it and now it RARELY happens. I still get a little discharge around that time of the month along with some soreness. That is the only time really that they are uncomfortable. The time they took to heal didn't even seem that long because I took really good care of them.

Now, a year later I still love them. I look at them in the mirror all the time. I think this was one of the best decisions I decided to make. I have lots of jewelry for them. And Mari Gras is one of my favorite "holidays" causes I get to show them off and get beads for them. I get compliments all the time on how "cool" they look. And when I wear a shirt with no bra people always seem to notice and question me about them, some even ask me to show them. What a good ice breaker!

I have since gotten back with the guy I had broken up with and he loves them too. I would definitely recommend getting your nipples pierced if you have been thinking about it. They are really nice to have..... and even better to have touched. I didn't feel nearly as much pain as I had anticipated.

I haven't told my mom that I have them pierced because she would get angry and try to rip them out. They are very easy to hide just wear a bra with good lining. You can't even see the barbells that I have in. I will eventually tell her when the time comes.

If you do decide to get your nipples pierced take some aspirin right after they are done and you won't feel that much soreness.

Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoyed my story!
