I had never really considered getting my nipples pierced. I always had thought it looked awesome and everything, but I didn't think I'd ever be able to get over how much it was going to hurt to actually get it done. For some reason I also thought it might be a turn off, like some people would be disgusted or something. However, in the last week or so I'd been thinking about it a bit. I didn't place much priority on doing it, I figured I'd might as well save up for my next tattoo instead because it's something I'd been wanting for awhile. I'd talked with my boyfriend about it briefly, we were just talking about piercings in general and he told me his ex had her nipples pierced. I told him I would be too scared to get that done. So the week goes on as normal.

I was excited to go, it was her first piercing and I love to watch people getting pierced; plus she said she needed support or whatever. So we went down there on Friday, only to find that the piercer had locked himself out of his shop. We didn't want to just leave him there, it was cold and he had no way to get home. We grabbed something to eat, and we ended up driving him to his other shop a few towns away. I asked him how much they charged for nipples just out of curiosity and to compare to the place I usually go, and it was cheaper at his shop. I was beginning to feel comfortable around this guy as well, which is good because I wouldn't trust any random person to pierce my nipples. I've been pierced by someone who I've been very impressed with, so for my future piercings I'd planned on going back to him. At this point I started considering getting it done with my friend whe n she went back. He said he'd pierce my friend for free for the ride, but she'd have to come back tomorrow when he was able to get inside his shop.
So the next day, I went to the bank to grab some cash because I was debating whether to get it done or not. We drove down to the shop, and I decided to get it done afterall. Jaarvis (the piercer) said he needed to sterilize the jewelry so we were waiting around in the lobby area for awhile. This didn't help much because I was already quite nervous, and sitting around didn't calm me at all. My friend seemed quite calm, but she told me it was only because she was more scared for me. Haha. So when Jaarvis was done with the sterilization and such, he invited me back into the piercing room, and told me to take off my shirt and bra. So I did, then he cleaned the area and told me to stand up straight so he could mark my nipples. He first marked them vertically which threw me off because I wanted horizontal piercings, but he explained it helped him to center them. After he'd marked the horizontal dots he made sure I was okay with them. I was, and as I looked, I was thinking "oh my g od this is the last time I'm going to see my boobies without piercings"...
I took a seat and then he was like "you nervous"? umm... yes. So he put the clamp on my right nipple and aligned it with the marks he'd made. He told me to remember to breathe, and I grasped my friend's hand, anticipating how badly this was going to hurt. He asked if I was ready, and upon my reply, pushed the needle through. It was painful, I felt throbbing pain, but for seriously about 2 seconds. I looked down, and I was bleeding. I have a vertical labret, multiple gauged ear piercings, and my navel, and I hadn't bled for any of those piercings. So I told Jaarvis I wasn't usually a bleeder, and he was like "well, you are today" so he grabbed some tissue to wipe the blood away with.
He asked if I as okay, and I nodded as he put the CBR in and closed it around the bead. I breathed out, trying to relax myself, thinking, "that wasn't so bad... now for the next one". I'd heard it hurt more the second time around, so I tried to prepare myself for some more intense pain. He clamped my nipple, and told me to breathe as he pushed the needle through. I exhaled sharply, and with that, it was over. He put in the jewelry, and again asked how I was doing. I'm prone to feeling really light headed when it comes to piercing, but after the first one was complete, I felt fine. I stood up and tried to wipe away the blood, but wasn't too successful. My friend told me I was her hero for going through with it because she'd never have the guts to do that. I grabbed some tissue and put my bra on over it, and she helped me because I was having trouble. Then I put on my shirt. Jaarvis asked if I needed to sit down for a minute, but I walked out of the room while he got ready to pi erce my friend.
When I went out into the shop, the tattoo artist told me I looked a bit pale and asked if I was okay. I said I was alright, and that usually after a piercing I'm a little out of it. He told me he was surprised I hadn't screamed. So my friend got pierced, and then we paid and left. As I walked outside, It was kind of cold, and that didn't help out my newly pierced nipples. But I was feeling fine; they were just a little sore. They charged me $60 and I gave a generous tip as well, but even with that it wasn't bad at all.
When I got home, I changed my bra and the tissues and went to the store for some cleaning supplies. I was originally going to keep them a secret from my boyfriend, but I went out with him that night to a party, and I told him because I was scared he'd touch them or something, and that'd be damn painful, plus I was super excited about them. He was more than okay with it, he said that was the biggest turn on, and he was glad I did it. I didn't show him because they were still all bloody, and I figured I'd show him eventually. At the party I was drinking, which isn't the best idea after a new piercing, but I figured, what the hell, it'll be fine. I cleaned off the crusted blood (lovely) as soon as I got home, and one had stopped, but the other one was still slightly bleeding. That kind of freaked me out, but I figured it could be because of the drinking, that makes your blood thinner and everything. I did a salt soak, and then I put on a tight tank top and went to sleep. I thou ght I'd have a ton of trouble sleeping, as I usually sleep on my stomach, but it wasn't all that bad.
The next morning I woke up, did another salt soak, removed some crust stuff, then took a shower and cleaned them, rotating the rings as told. That was slightly painful, but after I'd gotten dressed the pain calmed down and they didn't really bother me for the rest of the day. It was kind of painful to go outside in the cold weather if you get my gist, or if you accidentally bump into something, but otherwise they haven't been bad at all. I can definitely say that the whole process hurt a lot less than I'd ever expected, and I'm really happy with them. I can't wait until they heal so I can change the jewelry and show them off. (j/k) It's been about two months now, so they aren't as irritable as they were at first. I'd heard that piercing your nipples increased the sensitivity. Very true, very good. If anyone has questions, feel free to email me and I promise to respond. Happy piercing, folks.
