I spent a few years debating over whether or not I should get my nipples pierced. I am so glad I decided to go for it. If you have ever pondered the idea of a nipple piercing or two, I strongly recommend you go through with it. The outcome is so worth it!

The piercing place I went to is called Tribal Ways and it is located on Mass Ave in Boston, Massachusetts. I highly recommend going there if you are in the area and want to get pierced or tattooed. They were super nice, extremely calm, and very professional. Their facility has a calming atmosphere and is very clean, which is crucial in the piercing/tattoo business!

It's totally normal to be nervous before a piercing. I know I was. Once I stepped into the waiting room, my nerves settled down. I was totally relaxed and ready to get pierced once I met with the aftercare specialist and met the guy that was going to pierce me. They were very warm and patient with my questions and concerns, which is also a very good thing to look for in a piercing facility. After the aftercare instructions were given, and I signed the consent form and paid the receptionist, it was time to get pierced!

Claudia was the assistant to Stephen, the piercing professional there. She explained that she was going to clean the area with a mixture of warm water, Bactine and rubbing alcohol before the actual piercing. So I removed my shirt and stood as she took the few minutes to disinfect my left nipple. After that, Stephen came in and looked at my nipple to judge the size of the jewelry and the placement of it as well. That took a few minutes, I'm glad he took his time to be sure, though. Next, I sat down as he got the clamp ready. He placed that over my nipple, and told me to sit very still. He then directed me to take a few breaths in and out to relax (even though I was surprisingly very calm). He took the needle out of the kit, that he opened in front of me, which made me feel at ease, dipped it in a tube of ointment and asked if I was ready. I answered, "yes" excitedly! He instructed me to take in a big breath and hold it. Right as he poked the needle through, he told me to exha le quickly. It didn't hurt at all! I felt it go in but, it was only a slightly uncomfortable tug but not painful at all! I was so surprised! Then it was time to put the jewelry in. He explained that I would feel a quick tug but, I hardly felt it at all. Then he bent the hoop into shape and put the ball into place. And that was that! It was really quick and painless. It only bled a tiny bit, he cleaned that with a Q-tip. Claudia placed a tissue in my bra just in case more bleeding occurred. And I was all set! I tipped them both and thanked them very much for my beautiful piercing.

The piercing didn't hurt at all and it looks absolutely amazing already. The rubbing alcohol he used to clean it afterwards stung a bit and that was the most uncomfortable part of the whole process! Crazy, huh?

Originally I was going to get both of them done at the same time. Moments before I called to make my appointment I thought maybe I should just get one done at a time. I would hate having both of my nipples out of commission at the same time, for sexual purposes. Also, I wanted to concentrate on healing one nipple before I had to take care of two at the same time, to ensure a healthy piercing with less to care for all at once. Now I can't wait for this one to be ready to be played with! *wink wink * I'm looking forward to getting the right nipple pierced. I'm practically itching in my seat, I'm so anxious!

Ultimately a piercing on your body is your decision and yours only. But I must say that my boyfriend is very happy that I got my nipple pierced and plan on piercing the other as well. He thinks it's a very sexy addition to my body. I agree. I keep looking in the mirror and smiling uncontrollably. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I absolutely love it. Even if my boyfriend didn't like it (which would make him crazy) I would've gotten it anyway. I had been thinking about it for a long time, and made the decision on my own. It is a relief that he enjoys it, though. That is a huge plus =).

I was pierced 4 days ago. Tribal Ways advises their clients to use Ivory Liquid soap on the piercing twice a day, followed by a 20- minute salt-soak with warm water, and topped off with a drop on Bactine on the entrance and exit holes. So far, it's been very easy and kind of fun! My nipple ring is beautiful and healthy. It will be completely healed in no time! I can't wait to get my right nipple done! I'm definitely going back to Tribal Ways. You should check them out! www.tribalways.com
