So I decided to get my nipples pierced last Saturday. Several factors influenced my decision, but I really have no idea what got me to the point of doing it! I had my eyebrow pierced about 3 years ago, but have taken it out since. I like body modification, but have been reluctant to do much myself (because of the visibility factors in different situations).

He bring his DJ equipment down every week and spins for 3 or so hours, and in return he is going to get some free/discounted tattoo work. How sweet is that? In the process of hanging out, I have gotten the itch to get some work done on my body. Getting a tattoo appointment would have taken months, but getting a piercing was immediate gratification for my little itch. I will continue to take advantage of my surroundings, but I wanted something NOW.
I talked to a friend of mine, Amy, who also expressed interest in having hers done. We decided now was the time, so we made a promise that we would do it immediately on Saturday (we decided on Friday evening while out for drinks!). Even though we were both quite drunk, I knew that we were both telling the truth, or so I hoped. Even though I was hesitant to get it done, I knew I really wanted it!
Saturday came; she had to work until 1:00. I woke up with butterflies. I helped my boyfriend bring his equipment and set up; I talked to the piercer-Shyla, and text messaged my friend to make sure all was a go! Whooo hooo!! It was. I went to pick up Amy at about 2; we came straight back and got set to go. We filled out all the paperwork; she autoclaved our jewelry, and we got started.
We went in together. It was a clean studio, and I was in no way worried about the sanitary factors. She put strips in the autoclave with the jewelry, and showed each of us that positive check before proceeding with our piercings.
Amy went first. She took off her shirt and stood for Shyla to mark the piercing. She laid on the piercing table, and I watched the whole process (explanation and all). I got more and more nervous just watching...especially after listening to her curse while being pierced(even though she told me it wasn't that bad after it was done, that did not help one bit!!). It was my turn.
I stood straight for Shyla to mark my nipples. I laid down and felt my tummy dancing around. Shyla told me she could feel my nervousness, so I took several deep breaths to relax myself. I could hear my boyfriend out in the parlor playing DnB, and I tried to concentrate on other things. She put the clamp on my right nipple and WHOA! Goddamn that hurt!!! Although I did not say anything while being pierced (quiet nervous energy...and teeth grinding), my words after were "that violated me in a very wrong way!" She asked if I wanted to get the left nipple done right away or if I needed a break, and I said get it done now, get it over with. Surprisingly, the left nipple was much easier (even Shyla said so!). My right nipple ached for the rest of the day, but not so much my left. Very strange.
She went over aftercare and we left the piercing room and paid. Another surprising moment! Aries, one of the owners of the tattoo shop who had made the deal with my boyfriend, took care of most of our bill and we only paid $11 for the two of us to be pierced, including jewelry (!!!). Shyla also told us we get discount for life ;)
I haven't really had any crusties around my jewelry (12 gauge barbells), but I have been very careful and clean (although I have noticed a little blood once or twice while doing my sea salt soak). I plan on buying provon this week, but have only been doing the sea salt soaks twice a day - and so far, so good! I can't say too much, though, because it hasn't even been a week! My nipples are my pride and joy now. Yay! I actually got them done! I did it, I did it!
All in all, I am very excited and pleased with my nipple piercings. I have been flashing them to my boyfriend all the time (and he's happy about that!) I can't wait until they heal to get full use of them!!! Their sensitivity is already piqued, and when I feel the pain, I can also feel the pleasure. Now Rey, my boyfriend, has to get his done. :)
