So I went to Europe right, and I had a kick ass time. While I was there I decided that I wanted to get 'souvenirs' from every place I went. I actually went to several different countries. Total I got one tattoo and three piercing and a hair cut and color in a total of five countries.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. See I still live at home and my parents do not believe in piercing and tattoos, body modification in general. So I had to get things done in places that my parents would not see. The good part is that I was planning on getting piercing and tattoos in all those places anyways, except my nipples. My nipples were the last place to pierce that could not be seen.
I walked into the studio expecting some third world country dirty studio (simply because of where the studio was located) but it was actually totally clean, like a doctor's office. I was with my friend Erin, who actually got hers done also, and we sat down picked rings and waited in line. There were like four or five people in front of us, so we spent like an hour waiting to get our nipples pierced.
Finally, when it was our turn, Erin decided to go first otherwise she might not do it after me. So she went in and closed the curtain. I told her to tell me every thing that was happening, so I could prepare myself. While she was in there she was really quiet and did not say much. When she was done, she came out with her shirt p so everyone could see her 'new do', as she called it. She said it did not hurt at all, that it was like getting your naval pierced. So naturally, I believed her. What a dumb ass I was for believing her.
I walked into the room and closed the curtain. Jurgen was getting ready. He put on gloves and set every thing up, then asked me to lift my shirt so he could take measurements, or something like that. He marked little dots on either side of the nipple and then he said, and I quote, "Brace your-self."
Now this comment took me by total surprise. Erin said it did not hurt at all, a piece of cake, no problem. So when Jurgen told me to brace myself, I was not sure what to think. Now I do not have a high tolerance for pain, but tattoos did not hurt and none of the piercing I had gotten hurt too bad. They were all quick little pains and then that was it. My nipples hurt like a BITCH!!!!!
He stuck the needle in my left one first. I thought I was going to scream my head off. It hurt so bad, and he was not even done yet. He still had to put the ring in. Now I am told that when you take out rings and put new ones in the ring should be wet or lubed, so that it will go in without any problems. Well, as far as I could tell, the ring was not wet or lubed or anything. So when he put the actual ring it, it hurt worse than the actual needle did. And then after I thought it was finished, he had t twist the ring so that it was straight.
He looked at me and saw that I was in pain, not life threatening, but enough pain to ask if I still wanted the other one done. I thought about it for a minute and decided that it would look stupid to just have one nipple done. Some people might not think so, but I thought it would be dumb to just have the left one done. So I decided to get the other one done.
I 'braced my-self' and let Jurgen do the other one. The nipple has to be hard so that it can be pierced, and my right nipple just was not going to have it. He sprayed it with cold water, and put ice on it, and it just would not get hard. Apparently my right nipple is smarter than my left one. It was the weirdest thing. It looked like I was not going to get the other one done after all. Then, right when I thought it was not going to happen, the damn thing hardened up and was ready to be pierced.
So I got it pierced. It hurt just as bad as the first one did, I thought I was going to cry. I came close to crying, my eyes got red and puffy and watery. But I kept the tears back. Now I do not want to sound like a baby or anything but it hurt.
After the whole thing was done, I paid him forty Euros and went on my way, back to my hotel. Every other piercing I have had, after it was done, it did not hurt afterward. However, my nipples hurt like nothing else. I am guessing that because of my bra it hurt, but that could not be the reason, because the were bandages over them. I cannot figure I out. The point is, it hurt.
My nipples were the last piercing I got in Europe. I want to get my tongue and nose and hood done too, but I am afraid that they will hurt like my nipples did. I am not a masochist and do not like pain. So I am not sure if I will actually get another piercing.
I am only one person, but everyone I have talked to, including Erin, says nipple piercings hurt. But what do I know?
