It all began just over 5 years ago, when I was getting bored with my body and life in general and wanted to do something to cheer myself up.
At A Glance Author Gareth Contact Gareth@bme.anon When Five years ago Artist Can't remember her name Studio Retro Rebels Location Aberdeen, Scotland I had already had the top of my ear pierced several months before in this same piercing studio, and having spoken about nipple piercing on both females and males with a few of my female friends I decided that I wanted to get one of my nipples pierced.
I never told any of my friends that I was wanting to get this done as I was unsure of what their reaction would be, as I was normally seen as the most 'normal' and straight one out of our group of friends.
I eventually worked up the courage to go to the studio and get it done, I had heard it was quite a painful process so it took a couple of weeks from when I had originally decided that I wanted to get it done to actually going to the studio.
I left my flat and walked down to the studio, when I arrived there I was suddenly struck with a bout of nerves, and walked away before I even managed to enter the premises. I went back to my flat, and for the rest of the day I was so annoyed with myself that I was unable to go through with it.
All week I couldn't stop thinking about what might have been, and when the next Saturday came round I got out of my bed and was determined to get it done this time. I still hadn't told anyone of what I was planning on getting done as I was wanting it to be my little secret.
This time I made it into the studio, and as it was quite early on in the day there weren't any other customers going about. I wasn't going to bottle it this time, so I walked straight up to the counter and said to the girl that I was wanting to get my nipple pierced.
The piercer was very nice and friendly and I think she remembered me from piercing my ear a while back. She explained the procedure, asked what nipple I wanted done and also whether I wanted a barbell or a ring. I had already decided that I was wanting my left nipple done with a regular barbell. I thought the bar would look nicer on me than a ring.
So I took my top off, and the girl marked the entry and exit points on my nipple, she showed me them in the mirror and I confirmed that I was happy with them. I then lay down on the bed and the girl cleaned the area around my nipple and then a clamp went on to it. This was the most painful bit about the whole thing I reckon, as the rest was over in a flash, and I didn't think it really hurt at all.
Once finished the piercer showed me the result in the mirror, I loved it, and was so happy that I eventually got it done. All the cleaning and looking after procedures were explained and I carried these out for the few weeks after as required. I encountered no problems at all in the post piercing healing process.
The first few weeks of having a pierced nipple I was still quite conscious of it as it remained quite tender and I tried not to brush up against anything to avoid any undue irritation. After about 5 weeks everything was healed up, and I began to forget it was there. I started going back to the swimming pool, and I could see people looking at it and I got a few comments about how nice it looked and did it hurt etc? I was finally convinced that getting it done was the best decision I had made for ages.
Five years on, I still have a a bar in my nipple and still love it. Not many people know about it even though I have had it for so long, my girlfriend loves playing with it and it adds so much to our love making as it is so sensitive. I really like wearing light coloured t-shirts as you can see the outline of the bar through the t-shirt and I can see people glancing at and thinking about what may lie behind the top. The air of mystery is great!!
Although I am in a professional job (I had to take my earring out when I started working in a professional office unfortunately) I wear the piercing in the office and out to clients as unless you really look closely you can't see it through my shirt.
I am now thinking about adding to my piercing collection, but as I am in a professional job it can't be anything visible, therefore my other nipple is currently looking favourite.
Anyone thinking about getting a pierced nipple, I'd thoroughly recommend it, its not as sore as some people say, and it turned my girlfriend on so much that she has now got one of hers done too.
