I get this little "itch" to get things pierced or tattooed. One day, while surfing the web, the itch hit me, and it hit me hard. I wanted; no I needed to get something pierced. I just had to have a new hole in my body, and no one was going to stop me.

I needed something that I could hide from my parents because I was told that if I had one more hole in my body, they would quit paying my tuition (which is a lie, but I didn't want to test them too much). I also needed something that couldn't be seen at work. My last big must was it needed to be able to be either healed by September, or be able to be taped down for when the rugby season starts again.
With all this in mind, I decided upon nipple piercing. Not just one either, because I couldn't be lop-sided, I chose two. Everything I read about them made it seem like the perfect piercing for me. Well, that and the fact that my boobs are pretty small, and any little thing to make them look better are a welcome addition.
Now that I had done all my research, and had some money, it was time to do the deed. I came up with some lame excuse that would give me a couple hours outside of the house without my parents wondering, hopped in my truck, and drove to the wonderful 252 tattoo. I found that going alone is much better for me, because friends make me more nervous. So, alone I went.
This is my 3rd piercing there, and I would recommend this place to anyone in the Cleveland area. I walked into the shop and just felt right at home (even though I had those fabulous butterflies I beating up the inside of my stomach). I signed all the forms, and let the guys laugh about my license picture for a bit as they copied it and got all my information together.
Finally, it was time. Jimmy walked me back to the corner room and had me sit down in the cold vinyl chair. We talked about barbells vs. rings for a bit, and chances of rejection (even though I knew, it felt better hearing it from his mouth). I decided on two straight barbells.
With that, the fun began! I took off my shirt, which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The worst part was when he sat there and poked my nipples with the q-tip to get them erect, and then had to ask if that's as big as they get. Then came the famous marker dots. They looked perfect to me, but then again, I didn't even see them, I just imagined jewelry there already. I sat in the chair and listened as he rambled off care instructions and got his tools ready.
Before I knew it, I was clamped on my right side. It wasn't bad until he let go of the clamp to grab the needle. That hurt a bit because the clamp pulled my whole nipple with it. I took my deep breaths, and right through the needle went. Not bad. Then...the jewelry...now that one hurt! It was short lived, kind of like a bee sting, and then it was over.
He did the left nipple quickly. For some reason, with this one, I got a little worried. Jimmy noticed that I started to clench the side of the chair. He quickly reprimanded me and told me that if I stiffen up, I make it hurt worse. Reluctantly, I let go and took a deep breath. Then came the deep breathe and push through. The left nipple actually hurt more than the right. It still wasn't that bad of a hurt though.
The drive home burned a little, but all-in-all, the nipples didn't hurt much. I was so surprised. I cleaned them with sea salt and anti-bacterial soap like I was told. Now, they're looking really good. I can't help but stare at them all the time, and play with them. It's just so much fun!
I have also learned that they can be fun. One of my biggest fears was that something would happen where I would lose feeling in my nipple. Actually, the opposite happened. Now my nipples are extra-sensitive. It makes for some really good times in the bed room, not to mention, they are a fun little surprise for anyone who does not know about them.
I keep trying to talk my friends into them, but no one will. It did not hurt as much as people think they did (although I will not tell people that...it's fun having them think I'm a bad-ass). It was one of the best piercings I have ever gotten and I can not imagine my nipples without their little shinny barbells now. I recommend this for anyone.
