I had been toying with the idea of getting my nipples pierced for quite some time. I kept putting it off for several reasons. Oddly enough, the main reason being the concern of someone I don't know well seeing me topless, not the pain. A couple of days before I made the actual appointment to get it done, I was seriously thinking of getting the supplies and doing the piercing myself. I decided against it though, because I know less than enough to do a self-piercing, which I strongly recommend against if you don't know what you're doing. So two days later, I made the appointment for the next day.

The day of my appointment, I had my friend come pick me up to take me and be there with me. When I got to the store, the piercer was in with another client, piercing their nostril. I waited around the store nervously for 5 minutes or so and then he came out and helped me pick my jewelry.

When we got into the piercing room, I hopped up onto the table and started giggling nervously, yes, I'm a nerd. I asked him if I could keep my shirt on, and just pull it up and he told me that would be fine. Then I asked him if he wanted me to be standing up or laying down when he marked my nipples and he told me it needed to be done while standing up because the breasts lay differently each way. I sat there for a minute with, I suppose, an obvious look of fear on my face, and he told me it was okay, we could wait a couple of minutes if I wasn't ready. I expressed that I was nervous about him seeing me topless as I'm not exactly used to showing strangers my boobs. He said, "flesh if flesh to me, this is my job"... which put me a little at ease. And then he offered, "if it makes you feel any better, I get nervous too, for obvious reasons", so finally I said okay and I was ready. So I pulled my shirt up, and he marked my nipples, then had me lay back and he lowered the table.< p> He clamped my left nipple first. I closed my eyes, and felt him put the needle up to my nipple. He told me to breathe in and out, then again, he said, "okay... now" and I felt a sharp pinch which disappeared after about 5 seconds. He removed the clamp and I sat there, a little dizzy while he got the ring to put it through. Pulling the ring through and the needle out actually hurt worse than the actual piercing. Once the ring was through, he grabbed his clamps and tried to squeeze the ring back together to get the ball on, but he was having trouble. After a couple minutes of messing with it, he told me he had to go find a smaller pair of clamps because the ones he had just weren't working. Once he was back, he got the ring closed and the ball on in a short amount of time and I breathed a sigh of relief as my nipple was really starting to feel the pain. He asked me if I was okay, and if I wanted to take a small break before he did the next one because I looked white. I told hi m to wait a second, so I could breathe and he told me to focus on a month or two down the road when they would be all healed and what I planned on doing with them then. Then I told him I just wanted to get it over with, so he went ahead and clamped my right nipple. Same process again, only with my right nipple, I could actually feel the needle go through every inch of my skin. It hurt like hell.

When all was done, I sat up and was in too much pain to even really take a look at the new work. He told me the already well known piercing cleaning procedure and if there was any peeling to discontinue the use of the saline solution. I pulled my shirt down, went home, and took some ibuprofen. About an hour after the piercing, I finally looked at them, and I absolutely adored them.

The first couple of times I showered, they bled a little bit. A little over a week later now, and the soreness has greatly reduced. Every so often, I will touch them the wrong way, and the pressure forces the ring to move and breaks the crusties off and THROUGH the piercing and it hurts like hell, but overall, it's not bad. I'm looking forward to when they're completely healed so I can take my piercer's advice. ;)
