My nipple piercing experience actually begins about five years ago with an experience I would not wish on any one. At the time, I was about sixteen, so a professional was out of the question. When I decided to pierce my own nipple, I had no idea of proper sterilization, correct jewelry, needle size, or anything. All that I really knew was that I wanted a ring in my nipple. With this goal in mind I proceeded to pierce myself using a sewing needle, that I hat washed with dial soap. The pain was so intense that I could barely come up with enough force to drive the needle through. When I did get passed the pain I also noticed that the needle made a popping sound as it passed through. That sound should have been a sign that the needle was far from sharp enough to be stabbing through my body. With in days of the initial piercing even I could tell something was not right. Still I refused to take the ring out. On top of the natural pain that comes with an infected piercin g, a terrible mishap with a bouncing basketball worsened the situation horribly. Again my entire body was rushed with a sweat causing pain centralized in about one inch of space. It was not long before the ring had migrated so close to the surface that I had no choice other than removing the ring. After the removal my nipple actually healed quite well with minor change.

By this time, I was far more aware of how a piercing should be done and who should do them. For the piercing, I went to Avante-Garde in West Allis where I knew that I could trust the work being done. I had gone to Avante-Garde several times before, so I was not in anyway concerned in that regard. Knowing that I would not want to go through the process again I decided that I would get both of them pierced simultaneously. Getting them done simultaneously meant that both Brent Holmes and Jim Melotte, the only master piercer in the state, would be piercing me at the exact same time. As is standard they had me lay on the table and began working. The feeling of having to people going doing the preparations for a piercing at once was actually extremely bizarre. The whole thing seemed almost surreal; of course my racing heart amplified it. I was far more nervous than I usually am due to my la st nipple experience. When it cam time to actually do the piercing Jim and Brent amazed me. Jim was telling me to inhale and exhale when with out a word they both stuck the needles in perfect unison. It was unbelievable how well they are able to time their work. The precision timing was proof of the experience level, as well as talent of both artists. Since both sides of my body were affected at the same time the pain actually seemed to be somewhere near to my stomach. Aside from a bit of misplacement on behalf to the pain, the ordeal was seemingly painless. That is when it is compared to the paralyzing pain of my own attempt. The captive bead rings were placed and closed on a very quick and smooth manner. When I went to the mirror to see how things looked, I was again impressed by the work. Both of them looked straight, and were even with each other. I am not aware of what Jim and Brent do that makes them work so perfectly with each other, but what ever it is the y could probably teach it to other people. All of this was of course followed by after care directions and then I was on my way.
With regular cleaning and care both of my nipples healed just fine. There were no migration problems, infections, or anything else. Most importantly I managed to avoid large bouncing objects that were capable of all but reducing me to tears. The common concerns of sleeping and average daily bumping were soon laid to rest. As long as I remained mindful of the sensitive area, everything was just fine. The most difficult part proved to be driving. I found that the shoulder harness constantly rubbed and subsequently cause my nipple to get uncomfortable. This was taken care of by simply no using the shoulder harness; a solution that I am sure many would debate for correctness. Although when a police officer questioned me on the matter, and I explained he seemed to think it was quite all right as well. It has been about three months now, and both of them are healed wonderfully. Soon I plan to go back and get a second set done. But for now I am enjoying the full use of m y cars safety features.
