My name is Christopher, I live in Philadelphia. I have been into body mod for a long time now and although I have downsized a lot both in quantity and general sizes, I still have most body and genital piercing with a lower count of facial piercing. This experience is in ode to my fabulous piercer and dear friend Luis Garcia, ex manager and body piercer at infinite body piercing. Now happily working for No Ka OI Tiki Tattoo and Piercing 610 south 4th street in Philadelphia, he is still adding to my collection. Now I will share with you my experience of my beautiful piercings, six gauge vertical dermal punched nipple barbells.
At A Glance Author vavoom Contact vavoom@bme.anon When Six months ago Artist luis garcia Studio infinte body piercing Location philadelphia pa I used to have my nipples pierced horizontally. Originally pierced at a ten gauge, I stretched them to a four gauge over about a year with a little love and care. I decided to retire them due to my profession, a bike courier. Why would I have to do such a thing? As an effect of wearing a shoulder bag all of the time and constant abuse my right nipple started to progress from a one hundred and eighty degree horizontal standpoint to a forty five degree angle and was always irritated, pussing and swollen. So after sea salt soaking and all other methods of healing my piercing decided to continue being displeased with me and my abuse I came to the conclusion that I should retire, heal, and try yet some time in the future.
The future came; I decided one summer day to fancy myself with new body adornments. I said to myself "why not try getting my nipples repierced?" "How about vertical nipple barbells?" It was music to my ears. I informed Luis what I wanted to do and he eagerly accepted the role. The role being I received a lot of scar tissue from the irritation and it would have been difficult to pierce through. Luis recommended using a dermal punch device to be less traumatic to the tissue and to speed healing. Let alone the fact that driving a 8 gauge needle through a massive amount of scar tissue wouldn't be pleasant. I agreed to those terms whole heartedly. I hadn't eaten that day so I scheduled a later appointment when he had some time free. I ate and soon returned to the procedure.
With a full stomach I got primped to undergo the experience. I removed my shirt and Luis cleaned the surfaces and applied lubricant to help the process go smoothly. How smooth can this go?? I'm getting my nipples punched!! Haha. Luis started with my left nipple. It went through easily with little pain. Well, a good bit of pain but i'm a trooper. After the dermal punch we immediately followed with a taper to the next gauge. Then the actual jewelry. Luis then asked me if I was okay and I was game for the next nipple, the problem child as I called it. I accepted because I was going to be damned if I walked around with one nipple piercing. I'm a symmetrical type of person. Knowing that the right nipple was going to be the tough one I took a couple deep breathes and acknowledged that this one was going to be rough. Not as rough as I suspected to be honest. The punch did not want to go through all of the scar tissue. Here I am sitting with a dermal punch halfway through my ni pple, Luis pushing as hard as he can. To add some humor and lighten Luis' spirits of putting me through pain I cracked a joke. "Is it being a bitch Luis?" Finally it went trough after another good push. It bled like the baby I expected it to. Insert taper, then followed by the jewelry. One word to comment after that ordeal, Ouch!! I couldn't even walk properly. I looked like a hunchback just trying to avoid my shirt touching my chest. Not the most comfortable position in the world but I was sure I would be pleased with the outcome.
I thanked Luis and went along my way home to relax because I had pain spurting through my entire chest. My roommate asked me why I was walking funny. My response was "how about you get Luis to punch your nips for you and let's see how you act afterwards!!" He immediately understood. I never slept better and certainly felt it when I woke up and for about another two weeks afterwards. All became well in time. They healed perfectly, and I'm very proud of them.
To this day I still have these amazing piercings and they love me back. Six gauge vertical nipple barbells. I've had neither problems nor any reason to take them out. The original cause of retirement of my prior nipple piercings is nowhere in sight. No more courier bags for me. Just happy piercings... Exactly how they should be.
