The decision to get my nipples pierced was one I made almost without thinking. I've had them both for over a year now. They are all healed and doing nicely.

As this is a very erogenous zone for me and I felt that having them pierced would greatly intensity that. I had originally only planned on getting my right one, and actually did get only my right one done the first day. With the left nipple three days later.
I went down to Unity here in Casselberry, FL to see about getting the piercing done. I had not gotten a piercing there before and wanted to check it out. At this time, I had only had one other experience with the shop for some tattoo work. I felt comfortable in the environment and satisfied with the competence of the staff. Gary was/and still is the piercer at the shop (I've since gotten 2 more piercings by him).
I probably didn't ask as many questions as I should have asked about the piercing before getting it. Just the basic stuff about what kind of rings or barbells, healing time and aftercare. The jewelry he said, was going to be a 14 g CBR (I do not know off hand what the diameter of the ring itself is). I got to pick out the color of stone that would be in the piercing (I went with a really pretty rosy pink cats eye).
So after much paperwork and ID checking (I'm well past legal age [23 then), but at least I was pleased that they were respectable enough of an establishment to ask all patrons for ID). We went back into the room where the piercings are done. Once we were settled. He showed me the exact needle (all still wrapped) and the jewelry he would be using.
I removed my shirt for him to clean and mark my right nipple where the piercing was to go. Gary had me stand with my arms to my side so that he could draw on the with the marker and to be sure that piercing was at the proper position in nipple.
I was seated on barstool like chair with a back. Gary used clamps on my nipple. It wasn't entirely uncomfortable just mildly so *blush* I guess it all depends on what you are used to. Gary lined the needle up with the outside portion of my nipple. He was piercing from the outside in towards the center. It was so strange for me that I was entirely calm at this point. I was a bit shy and embarrassed about being next to naked, in a shop, with someone I didn't know at all. I was told that when I took a deep breath in he would do the piercing when I exhaled. I took a deep long breath, and slowly released it.
The actual piercing did really not hurt, at least to me. A pinprick of heightened sensation and the needle was through and corked. I was fairly well gooed up with Vaseline (or whatever it was that he was using to lube the needle) so the jewelry slid right into place. The bead was popped in and the ring adjusted so that it hung straight. And I was free to go and examine my new piercing in the mirror.
The aftercare for the piercing that I was given was to wash all the crusties off the ring first with q-tip (to keep them from getting pulled into the piercing while washing it). Also having prewashed my hands with an antibacterial soap and hot water. I was to use provon soap twice daily in the shower to totally clean the ring and the piercing. I have since heard things about sea soak baths on a new piercing, and would have rather tried that since the provon soap can be a bit harsh in a new piercing if you have sensitive skin.
Gary had talked to me prior to the piercing about getting them both done at once. I had opted to just get the right one done. I was unsure if I would enjoy the piercings or not, and didn't want to have both out of commission if I decided I didn't really like it enough to have two. Well, after having the one done, I was in LOVE with my ring. It really made my once very uninteresting boobs interesting! But I felt kind of lopsided with only one done. So I went back 3 days later. Gary didn't even need to ask what I was there for, he just said "see, I told you that you should have had them both done."
The second procedure was much like the first. The only difference this time I was really prepared for everything that was coming, pain wise. After it was all done with I looked in the mirror to admire the set of rings I had now.
The piercings both healed up fine. All though I have had a bit more problems with the left one than the right one. It seems always more prone to being sore.
I am now contemplating getting double nipple piercings in each breast.
