I am a 30 year old divorcee of 4 children. I got my
At A Glance Author Connie Contact Connie@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Mike Studio Skinworks Location Bossier City, Louisiana first tattoo about 8 years ago and my first piercing,
my navel, around that time, also. I since then have
had 5 more tattoos, my tongue pierced (3 weeks ago)
and today-I HAD BOTH NIPPLES PIERCED!!!!
I wanted to go get it done yesterday after work, but there was all ready someone in the back getting a tattoo, so there was no where I could go for privacy to take my shirt off. I came home and looked at a lot of the experiences on BME to get an idea of what I was getting myself in to. By was I nervous!
I went to Skinworks during my lunch break to get the piercing. I marched up to the counter and boldly proclaimed "I would like both nipples pierced, please". I filled out the paperwork, gave the man my ID and paid my $55.00.
Mike was going to do the piercing, which calmed my nerves somewhat, because he had pierced my tongue and I felt very comfortable with him.
I saw him setting up "the tray". No turning back now.
He put on a pair of gloves and asked me if I was ready. I said "yes" and off we went to the back. He pulled a curtain around our little space and made sure that no one could see me. I took off my shirt and bra, and it hit me, I am sitting here naked from the waist up! I kind of covered my chest until he was ready to start.
Mike asked me to stand up straight with my arms by my sides and be as still as possible. He explained that he would clean my nipples with iodine first, which he did. He then told me that he was going to use alcohol which would be cold. Which it was! With the coldness of the alcohol and all of the stimulation going on I think that my nipples could have cut glass at this point! I was kind of embarrased, but I got over it.
It took him awhile to mark my nipples. He apologized for the time it took, but explained that he was a perfectionist when it came to his piercings. I told him that I appreciated it very much, not to worry about how long it would take him to get it perfect. He got them straight and asked me to look at the markings in the mirror and make sure that they were straight. I looked at the two little dots on both sides of my nipples and thought, ooh my God, what have I gotten myself in to ?!? They were perfect, and I gave him my approval to go ahead with the piercing.
I sat down in the chair and Mike told me that he was going to lay me back. He put the clamps on my right nipple. He asked me if it hurt and I said no. He told me that was good, because most people say that the clamps hurt more than the piercing itself.
I was watching and saw him reach for the needle. O.K.-Here it comes. Mike told me to take a deep breath in and let it out. OUCH. It hurt, but not as bad as I had expected. He told me that the needle was in, and he was going the put the jewelry in now. I felt a small amount of tugging, but it did not hurt at all. I looked down and saw the perfect CBR in place. I was so excited and I had a great adrenalin rush going! ON TO THE NEXT ONE MR. MIKE!!!!
He turned the chair the opposite way and put the clamps on my left nipple. I told him that I had heard the second one hurts more than the first. He just chuckled and said "ooh really?"
He asked me if the clamps were hurting and I told him no. There he goes to reach for the needle again. He told me that he always uses a new needle for the second piercing, because it is sharper than the one that he used all ready. I said OK and got ready. I grabbed both arms of the chair and closed my eyes. He said take a deep breath in and let it out. Done. I told him that the second one did not hurt as bad as the first one! I watched him put in the jewelry, which did sting a bit this time. I did it! It was over! I admired my new jewelry in the mirror and was so pleased with myself.
Mike explained that there would be some bleeding for a couple of days. He told me to use 1/4 teaspoon of epsom salt to 8 oz of water, put the cup over my nipple and let it soak for 5 to 10 seconds, then use an anti-bacterial soap, like dial, and lather up both nipples really good. Move the jewerly back and forth and after that, get in the shower and rinse them off. Move the jewelry back and forth to make sure that all of the soap is off.
I went back to work, and finished my day. I got home and immediatley went into the bathroom to look at them again. I noticed a small spot of blood in both cups of my bra. I gave birth to twin boys last December, and I still had some breast pads. I cleaned my piercings and put the breast pads into my bra. So far, they are only sore a tiny bit. I can still hold my babies and I cleaned house, also. Nothing major. I hardly notice that they are there.
If you are wanting to get nipple rings, please go for it. It is a decision that I will never regret. I just can't wait until they heal, so I can get the full effect!
