Okay, so last summer I decided that I needed my first piercing. So I took my graduation money and, on my brother's bad advice, headed to a crappy little place in Mobile to have my left eyebrow pierced. The girl who pierced it was rather unfriendly, and didn't seem to care whether or not I got this done. But I did it anyway. I was a piercing virgin; I didn't know any better.Well, I have since learned my lesson. But all of this should be saved for another story.

I first met Lucky in September of 2001. I was introduced to him by an ex-boyfriend who had been going to him for piercings as well. A week after he and I had met, my friends and I were back at C&D to have my eyebrow re-pierced (the first piercing had met with an accident). Lucky was very friendly and did things at my pace. The experience was so pleasant that a week later I took my roommate and one of her friends there to have their piercings done (my roommate's eyebrow and her friend's cartilage). After another week, I was back for a second hole in my eyebrow.

Once my eyebrow was all pierced out, Lucky started angling towards tattoos. Eventually he talked me into it, and I came up with a design that I liked. Less than two months after meeting him, I was letting him put a design forever on my back.

As the weeks rolled by and the visits to C&D continued, Lucky kept trying to talk me into more piercings: navel, nipples, tongue, hood, et cetra. Finally, in February of this year, after two eyebrow piercings, one cartilage piercing, and two tattoos, he managed to talk me into getting one of my nipples pierced. Actually, I went in that night not knowing what I wanted to do. It was between my tongue and my nipple. And somehow we finally agreed on the nipple. So I took off my shirt, stood there feeling rather awkward, and let him mark my right nipple. Then I laid down on the table and let the procedure actually begin. I was terrified; I just knew this would hurt. I screamed, I yelled, I made huge scene..and Lucky hadn't even touched me yet! I was so loud that Spider, the owner of the shop, had to come in to see what Lucky was doing to me, and the other people that were in the shop at the time had to ask Spider what was going on (they stuck around, too, and asked me about it aft erwards, which was rather embarrassing).

Finally, after the screaming had stopped, he clamped my nipple. That kind of hurt! I don't see how anyone can like that sort of thing! Within a few minutes, I had a needle through my nipple. When he was done, I was left with a feeling of "that's it?" Not that I wanted it to hurt, mind you, but I really expected it to. And it didn't! I was absolutely shocked that it didn't hurt (my belly button, which he managed to talk me into recently, hurt worse than either nipple).

As I was leaving, Lucky jokingly said that I'd be back in two weeks to get the other one done cause I'd be lop-sided until then. Well, he was right (not about the lop-sidedness, just about the piercing). Two weeks later, I was back on his table, this time without the screaming and fear.

I went back a couple of weeks later to have barbells put in, which Spider had to do for me. He tightened them down too much, and I couldn't get them out to clean them (the right was a month old and had healed, but the left was still rather tender), so I was in severe pain for about a week until I could get up to the shop again. After the barbells had been loosened and I could clean them properly, the right one stopped hurting completely and went on to being a normal piercing. But the left one was stubborn. I had it pierced the first week of March, and it didn't stop hurting until the middle of May (and only then because I threatened it).

So now both of my nipples are just fine. The left one still has stubborn moments every once in awhile, but it's usually okay. The only thing I didn't expect is that more people have seen my nipples now than had ever seen them before! I also get varied reactions from friends when I tell them about the piercings, ranging from "ow!" to "dear god why?!" to "oh really?!" All in all, my nipple rings are great. They are by far my favorite piercings, and I love them dearly. I highly recommend them to any girl who has a little money to waste and doesn't mind a little (and I do mean a little) discomfort.
