Since I was 13 years old, I have counted down the days until I was 18, and could get pierced. I've always been fond of nipple piercings, and realized, a few months before I turned 18, that that's what I wanted.

Location Kalamazoo, Michigan A week before I turned 18, I discussed it with my boyfriend, Seth, and he thought it was a great idea. I spent a good deal of time in my bathroom staring at my nipples, thinking about what gauge to get them pierced at. I knew I wanted them bigger than the average 14 gauge CBR, but how much bigger? I removed the ten-gauge ring from my navel, and held it up to each of my nipples, and decided that would be perfect. I had heard some very good things about Asylum, Inc. in Kalamazoo, so I decided to check it out, which we did the weekend before. It was the most relaxed, and the most spotless shops I have ever been in. We decided that after we had dinner with my parents and our friend Hillarie, that we would go to the Asylum in Kalamazoo and I would get pierced.
After dinner on my birthday, my heart was racing. I hardly tasted my birthday pie because I ate it so quickly. Seth, Hillarie and I piled into his little car, and it was off to Kalamazoo.
We got to the asylum and the tattoo artist asked if he could help us, I told him I wanted to have my nipples pierced. (It was at this point that I realized that I had forgotten to take my party hat off before we left the house) "It's your birthday, isn't it?!?" he said, and yelled for Mac. She came to the counter and took my ID, said happy birthday and had me fill out the paperwork. I asked her if I could get pierced at ten gauge, and she told me that it was fine, as long as my nipples were large enough, and I thought I could take the pain! She grabbed two ten gauge CBRs and let me pick out my beads. I picked red glass beads from the rainbow of colors that she put in front of me, and we went into the back to see if they would fit. She took one look at my nipples, which happen to be rather large, and said "Yep, they'll fit. This is going to hurt a lot more than 14 gauge, you know that, right?" I told her I did, and went out to the lobby to wait with Seth and Hillarie on on e of the big leather couches.
Fifteen minutes later, after some interesting conversation with my friends and the tattoo guy, Mackenzie came out of the back room and told me it was time. I went in the back and took off my shirt, with my friends looking on. She cleaned my nipples, marked the placement and had me look at it. It looked perfect to me, so I lay down and Seth took my hand. Hillarie had her camera poised to take pictures for me. Mackenzie told me "alright, I don't use clamps, I hope that's ok." I said it was fine. Then she asked if I was ready. I shut my eyes, and heard the camera flash. Then I felt INTENSE pain in my right nipple. I sort of moaned and mumbled, "Fuck!" as Mackenzie put the ring in she said, "Damn girl, you are badass! That's one fuckin' big needle!" She had Seth switch sides so she could do the other nipple, and as soon as I took his hand, I felt an even worse pain in my left nipple. I gritted my teeth and whimpered and she said "Finished! You're hardcore. Most girls that come in to get this done want the smallest ring possible." Seth smiled at me and said, "I love a women that knows exactly what she wants!"
Mackenzie went over aftercare with me, and cleaned the blood off of my nipples. Hillarie took one last picture and we walked out into the lobby. The tattoo guy asked how it went and Mackenzie said, "This girl rocks! She got her nipples pierced at 10 gauge!!!" He smiled and said, "Fuck! Yer a trooper! I didn't hear a scream or anything! Rock on!"
We left and got coffee at fourth coast, across the street and went home. Two days later we returned because I needed one ring tightened (I almost lost the ball in the shower) and I had realized that I had forgotten to tip her.
My nipples rings are 4 days old, and healing without complications. I highly recommend Asylum Inc. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They are very professional and have a huge selection of jewelry. The staff is wonderful and they do great work!
