I have wanted to pierce my nipples since before I had even pierced my ears. A long long time ago in a land far away when I was a stupid punk and didn't have the slightest idea what I was doing I tried piercing my nipple with a safety pin. Like I said, I wasn't the brightest kid in junior high... I ended up piercing the same nipple with a safety pin three times!!! Yeah that hurt a little.. Some advice, if you find yourself considering piercing anything with a safety pin... DONT ! For one, it is the most painful rout to go, and even if (Big if) you do succeed in getting the jewelry through after you take the pin out it will take forever to heal, not to mention the fact that the metal they use for safty pins is crap and will almost certainly cause a reaction. Well after that little mishap it was a long time before I even thought about piercing my nipples again. However, when I went into high school I ended up piercing my ears and gauging them. From then on I was addi cted. It's was something about how gauged jewelry feels, I love it! Then I started thinking about what to get next. Since then I have pierced my labret 3 times, done two 10 gauge orbitals in my lobs(RIP), done my own navel(RIP),tong webbing(RIP), tragi(RIP), 4 gauge prince albert and 10 gauge appadravya.

I have been broke for the longest time so I haven't been able to buy needles or new jewelry. But just recently I sold the old 10 gauge that I used to have in my appadravya for about $20 and ordered about 30 needles from www.labodyjewelry.com. I have always thought large gauged nipple rings were sexy as hell, so I decided to pierce mine at 10 gauge ( I have a pare of tapered 6G CBRs waiting for when I am ready to go up in gauge) Shortly after my needles came in the mail used my credit card to buy one 10 gauge 5/8 CBR. That night after doing a couple of piercings for some of my friends (septum & nipple) I started getting out the equipment to do my nipple. I laid everything out on my bathroom countertop, : one 10 gauge needle (looks fukin huge) one pair of boiled mini Pennington clamps, the 10 gauge CBR, one bottle of bactien and some tissue paper.
I marked the spots on either side of my left nipple where I wanted to pierce and took the clamp in my left hand. After lining up the edge of the clamp with the marks I had made on both sides, I took the needle in my right hand, lined it up, and began to push. I know it hurts a lot less if you do it really fast, but it's an entirely different matter when you're doing it to your self! I broke the skin on the first side without much pain but when I tried to push through the flesh in the center it quickly became excruciating. After a small pause I pressed on. It seemed like an eternity before the needle broke the surface on the other side, and I knew that that was only half the battle; I still had to push the rest of the needles taper through. That went significantly faster. Then I took the CBR and followed the needle through (half pushing with the ring and half pulling on the needle). After spraying it down with bactien and rotating the ring, I popped the ball into pla ce and it was done!
Up until this point I was in no small amount of pain, but once I had the ring in place the pain completely stopped! It was the strangest thing... I suspect it was the surrounding tissue going into a mild state of shock due to the large gauge needle I used. Seriously, it was eerie, all that pain for what must have been 5 or 10 minutes and it just stopped. I could pull on the ring and twist and all I felt was the tug. After about 20 minutes the feeling began to return to my impaled nipple. Just in time for me to try to sleep on it... ( :
I have had it for about a day now (just happened to be the coldest days of the year) and it's fucking sore! At least I pierced the left one this time so I don't have to deal with the seatbelt rubbing on it while I'm driving. I highly recommend this piercing; however you might want to try starting off at 14 gauge...
Happy Healing
