My 8 ga. nipple piercing.

I wanted to get my nipples pierced for a long time, for esthetic and functional purposes.

My main worry was what gauge to get them done at. I thought if I was going to eventually stretch up, then why not pierce at the largest gauge I could?

I discussed this with some trusted professionals and almost all of them said I could go as large as 6ga. but it would be more practical to begin at 10ga. or 8ga. I preferred to see the needles before deciding. I must admit I had a notion no matter how intimidating the 8ga. needle was, I was going to go through with it at that gauge. Jay, my piercer of choice agreed to have instruments and jewelry for both gauges just in case.

Upon entering his shop, we all greeted and he was in the middle of doing a navel piercing on a girl, her boyfriend hovering at the door nervous and anxious. I took a seat in the waiting room. I sat thinking about how much it would hurt and if they were going to give me a lot of problems.

After Jay was finished with the customer before me, he asked some simple questions like if I was prone to fainting and if I was sure I wanted to go with 8ga. because the piercing would be pretty intense. I assured him I was prepared and he replied "great." After some preparation he had me lie on the table and did the marking, he was very precise in doing the marking. My left side took well and looked fine, but my right side wanted to sweat smearing the mark, one side of my body was warmer than the other. After about 3 tries, having me stand up and double check, it looked as if we were ready. He had me lay back and told me to try to relax. He then asked if I preferred which side was first. I said no, and he chose to do the right side first because of the difficulty marking it. He showed me all the clamps, needles, and two ¾" 8ga. CBRs, fresh in bags and I admit the needles were big, but the bevel was nice. He then explained the clamp may be a little uncomfortable and to say if it was too tight. So, he applied pressure to the clamp slowly, affixed it and it was fine. He asked me to start breathing deeply and try to relax as he positioned the needle. After a few moments he pushed the needle through, and I could barely feel it. The needle went through flawlessly, and then it was time to put the jewelry on. ¾ " 8ga. CBRs were the choice, and before he put them in he explained there may be a little discomfort. In one quick motion it was over and he was securing the bead. I didn't feel a thing besides a slight pull. Everyone there was slightly shocked it went so smoothly, including me.

I was then told to take it easy and relax, I was quite high on adrenaline and hadn't noticed it till I laid my head back down after looking at my freshly pierced nipple. I just enjoyed the feeling and though my nipple had a burning sensation

it wasn't at all uncomfortable. After about 7 or 8 minutes I was ready for my left nipple.

We went through the same procedure, first the clamping, then the needle was ready to go through. This time I could feel it go through, and it hurt. I flinched a little and had to grit my teeth a bit, but the needle slid through just a fast as with my right. After a second of discussing that this time I did feel it, he got the jewelry ready and positioned it. Once again in one clean sweep it went through and he was putting the bead in. Just a little pain from slight pulling was all I experienced. Now it was done. He told me not to get up for a while and just relax. My head was swimming in adrenaline and I had no intentions of moving for a while. So, I just laid back and let the adrenaline wear off and the pain kick in. After about ten minutes I stood up and looked at them in a mirror. I loved it, they looked great! Jay then explained aftercare, and how to clean them. Plus added that I might want to wear a 'wife beater' under any shirt so they didn't move a lot and get angry. I paid and tipped, bought a nice septum spike, and I was on my way with two new and improved pierced nipples.

After 3 months they have healed nicely, the warm salt water soaks did wonders to ease any healing. The only problem Ive had with them was the left got angry from a crustie passed into the piercing once while I was sleeping. Otherwise, caring for them has been very easy.
