I only really was allowed to get my beloved nipple piercing today, because my mum wanted her bellybutton done for ages and finally was courageous enough to get it done.......

After calling me a lesbian and accusing me of being a guy in disgise(i dont know why, but she thinks only lesbians and guys get pierced nipples) and asking my why on earth i'd want my nipple pierced, she decided that since she was getting her belly done she might be nice enough to let me get my nipple pierced.

We walked over to the nearest place they do piercings, and asked about prices, jewellery, pain factor, etc., and decided they were clean and decent and all, and so we chose jewellery. I sent my mum in first, and she chose a double-jewelled, 14g surgical steel barbell. Surprisingly, considering she has the lowest pain tolerance of anyone i know, she didnt scream or anything.

So out she comes, all proud of herself, showing off her belly, and i get sent into the room and get told to take my bra off.. the guy asked me which nipple i'd chosen (left), then measured and marked it and decided to put a 12mm surgical steel ring through it. I'd only decided to get the ring at first coz they didnt have any jewellery i really liked, and anyway i can change the ball.

Next thing, i was laying on the table, staring at the cieling and clenching my hands together..... He seemed to stuff around for ages, doing God knows what to my breast, but finally the beginning of the most painful 10 seconds of my life started. He started pushing the needle through, and a little blood came out, and a mighty lot of pain was experienced. It seemed to take forever for the needle to go through, and i honestly thought i was about to die. He sure took his sweet time, and i realised how sensitive breasts are.

Then he seemed to take forever pulling the needle out and putting the ring through. Finally it was over (thank God), he put the ball on and i took a look. Now that was the happiest moment in my life. It looked really good, only a little bit of blood was pouring out the sides, and it didnt really hurt when he moved it around a bit showing me how far it could go.

It's only been about 12 hours since my piercing, and its bled a bit, but it doesn't hurt to turn or rotate or clean it, although the bleeding is on-and-off. I (for the first time in my life) can't wait to go to school tomorrow and tell everyone, although since i go to a girls school i'm a bit suss about showing some of them.

I also had a little special reason for getting this piercing, because last week was when my cousin was meant to be born (she died before birth), and i wanted to celebrate her short life, even though she didn't make it right into this world, by getting something permanent done to my body, something I could look at and remember her by. It sounds a little bit silly, but it means something to me.

I'll update in a few weeks on its progress and new jewellery.

I really recommend anyone to get their nipple pierced, it looks beautiful and its a sort of fun piercing, i cant wait for my boyfriend to play with it :)

I think i might need a few extra words, so here's some questions answered:

1. Try and remember to ask what the pircers name is, it might make u feel a bit more comfortable, especially when they're piercing something like a nipple.

2. Remember to pick jewellery that you like, theres nothing worse than being stuck with an ugly piece of jewellery for the next 6-8 weeks of your life! or do like i did, get something versatile where you can change the ball or screw or whatever.

3. Ask who is doing the piercing. I thought that the guy i was talking to about jewellery would be doing mine, but it turned out that another guy did it and i didnt feel totally comfortable with that. I guess i'd sorta 'bonded' with the first guy a bit, and then the piercer hardly said anything to me and was a bit hostile.

4. Remember to get the right aftercare instructions, try and stay outa fights where your nipples might get punched, and also remember to ask what kind of and size jewellery would be suitable for the future.

JUS REMEMBER: FEEL COMFORTABLE, TAKE SOMETHING OR SOMEONES HAND TO BREAK, CHOOSE THE RIGHT JEWELLERY AND PIERCER, AND U'LL BE RIGHT.
