I am one lucky son-of-a-bitch. First of all, I'm a high school student whose parents and employers don't mind visible/facial piercings. Secondly, I know a reliable, professional piercer who works out of her home (and occasionally other places) and charges extremely reasonable prices for her service

Ahem. Piercings I've currently got: left nostril (16g), septum (8g), nipples (14g), three knuckles on my right hand (14g), and my middle finger on the left (14g)

Piercing I've paid for in advance: madison (12g)

Of course, there's many more to come

The high school I attend is located right smack in the middle of downtown. From any window in the main building one can look out and see Acacia Park – hang out for winos, slackers, skippers, dropouts, and other random delinquents. =) At any given time of the day there are a hand-full of students lounging around; eating, sleeping, playing hacky sack, smoking, etc. And so it was that this park would be the setting of my first non-aesthetic piercings

On the phone, abut a week prior:

Friend: "Oh, hey – guess what..."

Me: "Uh?"

F: "*** got her nipples pierced"

M: "Did she? Gnarly. I would never get my nipples pierced. I mean, owie"

F: "Yeah, I know"

Nevertheless, *** got me thinking about piercing again (I had a few holes at that time). I also had some extra money, and therefore quite a few piercing options. I picked nipples. Why? I honestly can't be sure. Perhaps the power of suggestion really hit me big time. ("*** just got hers done.") Maybe I knew it was time to go for a non-visible piercing, and one that was inherently sexual. Whatever the reason, I called up the piercer (let's name her "Erin") and we discussed prices and jewelry and where I'd like to be pierced: "Acacia Park ... you sure about that?" "It's the most convenient place I can think of"

Lunch rolled around the next day. I told my friends I would meet them at the café we normally frequent, without giving hints to my plans. "Oh, I'll just catch you guys later"

At Acacia:

Erin: "You ready? I'm sure you don't want a bunch of people around while we do this"

Me: "Not particularly. We could go over by that tree..."

I sat, she sat, and immediately a bunch of people I didn't know flocked around us. I decided to not let it bother me. Out came the gloves, the autoclaved, packaged jewelry, the gauze, all of it. By then we had a nice little crowd. From behind us a reporter and a cameraman stepped into view (they had been there undoubtedly harassing kids about something of minor importance). "Oh, wow ... who's getting the piercing done today?" Erin pointed in my direction. "What are you having pierced?" Nosy bitch. "I don't know yet." Only moments earlier I'd been sitting there with my shirt off. As soon as we noticed the reporters, I hiked it back up into position. ('Twas a sleeveless, backless top)

Out of nowhere a black-clad dude in a NIN shirt made his way into the circle, kissed my hand, and told me I looked like someone he'd wanted to know. (I am the biggest NIN fan, though not overweight ... lol.) Aren't NIN fans the sweetest? =)

So anyway. I sat there, half naked, with a good ten to fifteen people surrounding me (strangers, too, I must note). Erin cleaned and marked both nipples, while Josh, the NIN fan, sat at my right. He took my hand, and Erin poised the needle on my right nipple (at present I can't recall if forceps were used). I asked her to count to three, and then squish, it went right through. Piercings have never made me nervous, and this was no exception. It bled immensely, however. Josh was right on it, though ... gauze in hand he kept the constant stream off of the jewelry and the rest of my torso. A girl somewhere in the crowd remarked, "Oh, don't worry about Josh touching your nipples. He's gay." I believe I then mumbled something about being bi, and the both of them laughed

All the while Erin had been poking my left nipple to get it hard (it was a nice, warm day, bear in mind). Her fingers were having difficulty arousing it into nipple-erection. After a moment of this, she noticed I was watching her, and chuckling, explained, "Don't think I'm weird, or anything." I suppose not many people have been in a situation like that: A bisexual piercer fondling their left nipple, a gay male cleaning the right, and a bunch of onlookers gasping and commenting and making odd suggestions ("Just have a conversation, man. You won't even notice" – on the contrary, I like noticing. Why else the one-two-three-shove count?)

Anywho. She finally got it hard, and I took to singing Nine Inch Nails' "Piggy" with Josh (who, by the way, has a good voice). "...Black and blue and broken bones . you left me here I'm all alone . my little piggy needed something new..." One, two, three, and it went in, right as I sang "nothing can stop me now". Added a little extra vibrato to my voice. Like the other, this nipple bled like a stuck pig, and it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable getting my shirt back on. "Gauze for the road?" Erin had offered me. I stuck a piece on each nipple, inside of my top. Walking cautiously into the café (lest the bloody gauze fall out of my shirt) proved a futile attempt, for I was bear hugged immediately by this crazy raver dude Ed; "SAM!" Ouch. It was pretty obvious what I'd just done – the first thing my best friend asked was "Oh God, Sam, did you really...? And what about the phucking madison?"

Anywho. The nipples felt GREAT as they healed. Very sensitive. Which is good. Under normal circumstances I never wear a bra, but I made an exception when I went to bed that first night (trust me, it's the smart thing to do). The day after, they both felt wonderful. Easy to clean, easily hidden, they don't get stuck on things, and they heal very quickly. All in all, I recommend to anyone. "They feel better than before I had them pierced."
