OK! so where to start. I suppose the start would be a good idea...

Studio metro Location Birmingham bull ring last summer, it occured to me how cool it would be to get my nipple pierced. So, I thought about it for about six months.. "should I? shouldnt I?" i finally decided to go for it about a month ago my friend was here from london, and i thought she was the best person to come with me.
So... we went to the studio, which is actually a beauticians, and opticians and body piercers all rolled into one. Walked in, filled out the forms, and went in to sit on the bed thing.
I lay there on the bed, and i was unbelievably relaxed. They only had 2 types of jewellery,a ring or a bar, but hey only had them in surgical steel. i wanted a pink titanium bar, to match my belly. but they didnt have any. so i chose a surgical steel bar. 1.6 gauge, 20mm in length. BIG mistake!!! the procedure was fine... she froze it, used the tongey clamp thing to hold it, and jabbed the needle through. (apparently i have tough nipples!! nice!) I sat in the room for a while, in case i fainted or something. I walked out feelin' well chuffed!! i had got my nipple pierced... What a feeling. A warning to any body, piercing is really addictive - i love it, and im only sixteen!!!
SO, neway, back to the story... The first few days weren't too bad. My friend had also had it done the day after me, so we were comparing progress and stuff. I got worried when i realised how far back the piercing was. I thought she was doing it too far back when i was sittin the on the bed watching her, and i did tell her it was too far back. But who am i to tell her - the "proffessional". Not only was it too far back, it wasnt even symmetrical - in the slightest!! one side of my nipple it was about 7mm, and the other it was about 3mm!!

..the zeros being the balls, and the brackets my nipple! After about four days, it got a little sore, and became VERY hard to clean, as i could not move the bar without screaming from the pain! i just had to let the shower run on it, and hope it would be ok. I also squirted on the solution i bought. But i was very unhappy with it, so much so i actually cried - which aint that abnormal for me, i cry at any thing - apart from pain!
So, 8 days after i had it done i went back. I dont know what i was expecting them to do, but they were really nice about it! This time round, it was the older lady that sorted me out. I went in and explained that i was unhappy with the job the other woman had done. I also said that i had told her it was too far back. The lady was really cool about it, and pierced the other one, this time with a ring, free of charge. The procedure this time was alot less painful, even though she did NOT freeze it! The time it was frozen, it hurt a bit, and the pain semed to last longer. But without it being frozen, it was less painfull, and was over much quicker.
First time round, i had to wear a surgical 'melolin' pad on the piercing, untill it was taken out. which was for like, 8 days. but the second time round, i had the pads on for just 2 days, then it was perfectly ok to go without one. I just left them both to 'hang free' at night to give it time to breath.
All this was about a month ago, Im quite happy with it now. Although i will not go to metro for body piercing again. In the future i will go to the piercing studio in THE OASIS CENTRE, BIRMINGHAM. its called PRO PIERCE. they are really good, and friendly. I went there today to get my tragus pierced. but that is another story - not as long as this though, cuz its all good so far!!!
To anyone who is thinking of having their nipple pierced, DO IT!!! i have no regrets... i just wish i could have got it right first time. Also, have it done with a ring, not a bar. They are much, much easier to clean. And despite what people say, they do not catch that much more! Obviously it will catch a little bit more than a bar, but in the long run i think it is far better! mine has been knocked about so much! from fighting with younger brothers and things, but it is still ok!
