I have always been interested in body modification. I already have eight tattoos, and have had my tongue pierced but had to take it for personal reasons. So ever since then I had no piercing what so ever. I did want a piercing but was never sure what kind to get, I really liked the labret but since I work in a day care it really would not be that practical since children love to pull at things. I also needed something I could hide since my parents are not that fond of body modification and also I would be doing my student teaching next semester. Unfortunately having facial piercings is not considered "professional" looking.

So that limited my options. I never really considered my belly button, and as far as genitals piercings I wasn't that brave. So that left my nipples. I actually did consider getting them pierced a few years back but a friend's mom had talked me out of it. So for the next week and a half I did research on the nipple piercings. I looked at pictures, and read experiences on BME and they all were very helpful. The ones that I read said it pretty painful, and sometimes they migrated but pretty much everyone agreed that it was well worth it and enjoyed the piercings.

I am originally from Chicago where there are quite a number of reputable piercing studios, but I go away to school and there are only two places to go. I was kinda apprehensive about that but while I was doing my reading on BME one of the places near my school actually was written about. Absolute in Normal Illinois. The experiences I read about it said it was a very clean place and very professional. So later on that week I called Absolute and they said it would be $60 for both nipples. That was a very good price since the other piercing place charged something like $80 for the piercings. So for the next couple of days I saved my money and decided on that Friday I would get it done. I worked earlier that day and was pretty nervous in anticipation of the piercing. I got off of work around 6 and came home, my friend was waiting for me to go and we left.

I walked into Absolute and went to the counter and told the girl I wanted to get my nipples pierced. I filled out the appropriate forms and waited for Chris (the piercer) to get ready. I looked around the shop and was quite impressed. Everything was very clean and set up nice. It put me at ease already. Chris called for me to go into the back room and my friend went with me for moral support. At first I was nervous I was going to be top less in front of a stranger, but then I realized he does this all the time so it's no big deal. Chris explained everything he was doing which made my nervousness go away even more. He showed that he had a clean needle and everything was clean. He then put the dots on my nipples were he was going to pierce. It looked good to me!! While I was thinking of getting my nipples pierced there was one thing that bothered me-what if you can't get your nipples hard? Well let me tell that stuff they put helps bring out your nipples alot and also the clamps helps too. The thing with me was I had inverted nipples so it was harder to get them "out". But everything was set. He had the clamps told me to take a deep breath and when he put the needle told me to take a deep breath out. It hurt but actually not as bad as I thought it would. I looked down to see a silver ring hanging from my left nipple. I had decided to get my right nipple done also. I like things to be symmetrical so I wanted both my nipples pierced. Chris once again talked me through the process as he pierced my right nipple. When he was done I looked down and was very happy. He taped me up told me how to take care of them and I was on my way.

Later that night I was taking a shower and wanted to clean my piercing since my left nipple bleed quite a bit I wanted to get rid of it. I had gone out and bought Dial antibacterial soap and was going to use that to clean my piercing. When I first cleaned it I almost passed out for a number of reasons. The blood bothered me, the sting of the soap in the piercing, the hot water, and I was standing up. Fortunately I caught myself before I collapsed. I continued washing my piercing sitting down. That was the only problem I had with my piercings. I have had them for almost a month and I continue to clean them twice a day. The healing process was not that bad in fact it's fun. The tingle you get is awesome and when you wear even a loose shirt it looks like you have four nipples. Over all I don't regret getting them pierced, and I'm thinking of getting a vertical hood done soon!!!
