I have been interested in piercing for a number of years now, and all that I still have to my name in a single lonely tongue piercing. Due to the nature of my work, this has to be removed every day, and the piercing is my little secret! This has caused me no probs – I guess I'm just lucky! I have over the years experimented with several other piercings including Septum, Labret (3 attempts) and a single nipple piercing done about 8 years ago. All have failed because of either work, wanting to keep "my secret", or the fact that they looked crap on me!

Studio Atlantic Coast Location UK The time came, however, to give my tongue a couple of little friends, so I read up experiences and picture on various piercings, and decided that Nipples were the way to go. I can still keep them secret, and they are there for ME.
I visited the studio – no appointment was necessary – and said what I wanted I.e. both nipples with bars. The guy doing the piercing said no problem, but he would only unwrap one needle etc. at a time incase I decided that I didn't want to go ahead with the second one. Anyway, after making a total tit (pardon the pun) of myself by getting on the couch when he wanted me to stand up, took out a tiny barbell and held it up to my nipples to see if the length was right. This seemed strange, as I would have expected comething much longer – but as he said, he was going to pierce the nipple, now the area around it!
He proceeded to mark the left nipple, right on the edges. Then came the clamps – OK so far. Then he sprayed something – Geeez it was cold! After making some adjustments with the clamps he took the needle. I can't believe that I actually watched the whole thing happen, I saw the needle go in and I saw the needle come out again. Then in went the Barbell – all done – no pain at all from the piercing itself.
After checking that I was OK he went on to the right hand side. They say that no two piercings are the same. All started OK, but the clamps felt much tighter and this proved to be the most painfull part of the whole thing. It did not help the fact that he struggled to get the clamps straight. Again on went the entire contents of the North Pole to freeze the nipple. Next thing I knew – All Done.
I was then given two bottles of "something" to clean the piercings with (One marked Left, One Right!!!!) oh, and a lollypop for being so brave!!!
I then set off for home. After about tem minutes I could start to feel a dull thud coming from my right nipple, then the left. This then became a bit of a pain. I got in the car to drive home – I don't know how you women cope with seatbelts! After a couple of hours all the pain had gone, my slightly saggy male nipples (maybe this will encourage me to loose a bit of weight) just felt a little heavy – no pain though.
All this happened about six hours ago now and I have just removed the dressings. I never realised that nipple piercings could look "subtle" but these really do. I just have a small stainless steel ball of 4mm resting each side of the nipples. I have given them their first bath in the solution that I was given the two bottles for. Quite a lot of dried blood and cotton buds later they look great.
The guys at Atlantic Coast are great – I felt really relaxed and everything was so clean. If you are in the area and want something "poked" go there – the lollypop has got to be worth it!!
I am hoping next to get my septum repierced, as, this is a piercing that I can hide easily – last time it was done, it was very thorough, but ended up a little crooked. I am also hoping to get a second and maybe a third tongue piercing to make a line down the centre. This will depend on the length of my tongue of course. I really like the look of the labret piercing, and the more I see them, the more I would like one, but I have a big bottom lip, and it just doesn't suit me – also it is more of a challenge to hide this from work! I have been able to hide the single tongue piercing for nearly three years now (I lead a very sad and lonely life!!!), so if my luck holds out I should be able to keep a few more secret.
If you have any questions or want an update on the healing – let me know.
