I really wanted to get my nipples pierced, but I am only 16 years old. I stumbled apon BME when I was 14 and I have become obsessed with piercing and tattoos ever since. I really wanted to become a bodified person, but because I was underaged this posed as a problem. I understand the laws and feel that people should be mature before they get modified, but I felt like I was ready. I want to get a full back tattoo, but I wanted to wait until I was of age, so I could go to a really good tattoo artist. It was pretty much out of the question that I pierced myself because I cannot stand needles and would never be able to do this to myself. I had heard from someone that the legal age in Canada was 16, so I made an appointment to the closest Canadian studio.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon Artist Jeff Studio some French piercing studio Location Canada When I got there, I wasn't very nervous, but as soon as a walked inside the studio I got a little concerned. The guy was smoking and it didn't look very clean. He brought me into the area where he did the procedure and it did not look clean at all. I did make sure that the needles were new and watched him take them out of the packaging, but the rings he took out of this box full of a bunch of rings. I thought nipples were suppose to be pierced at a minimum of 12 gauge, but he insisted that I get 16 gauge rings. I guess I was easily persuaded (even though I knew better) because I was really nervous.
Then I took off my shirt and put this yellow on my nipples. I was really starting to get nervous, but the guy was actually really nice and calmed me down. He didn't even mark the hole, but the first one seemed to go well and looked nice. He clamped my nipple and told me to take a deep breath. Then, he pushed the needle through. I was surprised that it didn't hurt as much as I thought it was going to. He put in the ring, and I was very pleased with my new hole. It was such a rush. But, then I had to get the other side done. I was a little more nervous and it took a few minutes before I was ready for him to pierce to other nipple. Once again he didn't mark it. He took a different needle and clamped my second nipple. It had some trouble going through and it hurt much more than the first one did. It seems to take so long to go through, and I moaned in pain. I looked down and saw that it was not centered and where the ring came out was away from my nipple. He said he could re-do it again for me, but I was in too much pain, and I said it was fine. He cleaned the blood off the fresh holes and bandaged me up. I paid the man and left to go back home. He had given me aftercare instructions and gave the same old same old speech about the importance of cleaning a piercing.
It was such a wonderful experience to get this done. Sometimes, I wish that I would have waited until I was older, so that I could have gone to someone who seemed cleaner. BUT It was such an amazing rush that I got. I would recommend everyone to get their nipples pierced. BME is such an amazing place. It taught me so much about piercings and got into this world of body modification. I think I want to get a "female" piercing next. I am very interested in hood piercings.
It was been about three weeks since then. I take VERY good care of them and have had no problems at all. I take a hot bath everyday to soak them. They were only painful for about 2 days after the procedure. I do a salt soak once a week usually. I used to put Band-Aids over them every morning, so that they wouldn't get caught on cloths or anything, but my skin got VERY dry and irritated by constantly ripping off Band-Aids. Once and a while I will get a little pus, but I have never got more than a little bit. The side that was done at an angle(by accident) looks fine, but I am considering getting it re-pierced when I am 18.
Overall, I am glad I did it. I love how they look and feel. I haven't had problems with the 16 gauge rings and am just extra careful about not ripping them. I plan to start stretching them in a month or so. I eventually want to get them 10 or 8 gauge. I think nipple shields are really beautiful, but I could not wear one on the "messed up" hole because I don't think it would fit in the opening area in the sheild. I hope to get many more mods, but I think I will wait until I am 18 and can go to a piercer that I trust.
