My Nipple Piercing |
| ||||||||||||
Well after I had gotten my eyebrow done I realized I wanted another piercing. I wasn't allowed to get anything else on my face done even though i wanted my tongue, septum, and labret. My eyebrow had migrated out of my eyebrow, and I was upset so i decided to get my nipple done.It took me a while to figure out whether to do it or not, because of my low tolerance for pain. I decided that when I had the money to get it done I would go to NYC and get it. People were telling me I was nuts to let someone in the village pierce me because of the fact that it's off the street. I had been there before and i knew it was clean so I was ok with it.
Well last Monday I decided to go to the village and see how much it would cost and who would do it. I had also gotten my eyebrow done there since they pierce you without parental consent. So I took the train and the path to 9th street and got off at my stop, and I don't think I had ever been that nervous before. I went with my ex-boyfriend and we were walking to St. Marks.....its like a half of a street where they have all tattoo places and piercing places.
I was looking for the guy that had done my eyebrow, but i couldn't find him so I went asking around. Since I am only 16 a lot of people said no. Finally I saw the guy that did mine and he had remembered me from my eyebrow. So, I had asked him how much it was to do a nipple piercing and he said $35....I only had $30 on me. My ex wanted his labret so we were waiting for him to decide, and the the guy was like ok $30 come with me.
Now his "studio" wasn't all the trusting when I saw it the first time I was hesitant to get anything done. Then I saw how he did everything and all the needles were out of the package and he cleans the surface of the piercing and everything so I trusted him. I had a ton of questions to ask him, but when he answerd I couldnt understand a word of what he was saying. He was very patient with me because before he even started I was very very hesitant to even walk in there. I asked him if it hurt. If he did it alot, and if anyone cried because it hurts so bad....he said yeah. So I just decided to stop being so scared I mean after all i had travled there just to see how much it would be, and to go home without it would be stupid. I went in and sat down in the chair and he cleaned my nipple and marked the spots. I grabbed my ex-boyfriends hand, and the guy was telling me to relax so I tried, but couldn't. Then he put on the clamps which didn't really hurt at all. Then as he was coming towards me with the needle I tried to push his hand away and he said not to move. Then I felt it going through.....it didn't hurt it felt weird because he was having trouble getting the needle through the other side. I picked a 14g ring with a black ball, but when he was closing that it was painful because with the thing he uses to close it felt like it was pinching me. Then it was over, it didn't hurt that bad, but that's probably because I was expecting it to be really painful.
He was explaining the cleaning, and aftercare instructions to me and telling me how many times a day to use bactine. I didn't really understand him so I had to ask again and he seemed a little annoyed since he sat there for like 20 min explaining. He was also telling me the healing time and not to let any saliva touch it because of the bacteria. Theres a healing time of 4-6 months I thought that was a little off but when I checked it he was right.
Its been 4 days now and its a little sore, but its well worth it. I have the worst pain tolerance, and it didn't hurt anymore than the eyebrow. So far its healing good, and the experience wasn't bad at all. My friends all want it done now, and they think it looks good. So overall it wasn't half as bad as people think it might be just because it's a nipple and they are sensitive. It took me like 2 months to actually decide, and I'm glad I got it done because I like it alot. In my opinion it's probably one of the best spots on the body to get pierced.
