Having my nipples pierced is somthing I always wanted to do. But being part of the professional mainstream world hinders self expression. Through a mutual friend, I became friends with some artists and piercers. I started hanging around a local studio that specialized in custom tat’s and body modification. My girlfriend wasn’t really into the piercing thing but I convinced her that it was something we both could do. So one evening, we went down to the shop and got ready. Cere, our piercer took time to calm my girlfriend as she prepped me. Since it was something that I really wanted, I needed no reassurance. Lying on the table looking up at the ceiling, Cere said, “o-kay on three, one, two. . .”. At that point the needle was already through my nipple and she was beginning to thread the 14 gauge ring through the tissue. The next nipple went just as easy. The rush of endorphines was great as both nipples hardened and tingled. My girlfriend was shocked expecting both intense pain and gushing blood neither of which was the case. Now it was her turn. As she lay there, I could see that she was tensing up. Cere is a very experienced and good piercer. Knowing the surprise of 1-2-3 wouldn’t work on my girl, Cere said “o-kay on three” at which point the needle was already through and the jewelry was on it’s way. As soon as Ande, my girlfriend, stood up and looked in the mirror, a smile broke across her face. Like most first-timers, she was overly nervous not knowing what to expect. I had already seen so many piercings performed that I wasn’t hesitant in the least.

We left the studio with endorphines raging in both of us. Cere gave us all the info on cleaning and care which we observed. There was never any real pain during the healing process just a heightened sense of pleasure and sensitivity; however, the healing process has never seemed to end. Even after two years, I still get crusties. It’s probably because of the rough treatment that I give my nipples with the constant weighting stretching and pulling.

I was sold from the beginning on body modification. It took my girlfriend a while but now her comment is, “I couldn’t imagine ever being without my nipple piercings.” Since that day I’ve wanted / needed the same initial piercing rush over so I started by taking two captive bead rings and jamming them through the piercing to enlarge the hole. The pain was pretty intense but I liked it so I did the other nipple. Since this wasn’t enough, I went to the local hardware store and bought small locks to hang from the rings to stretch and distend my nipples. Bad decision. The small gauge rings acted like a cheese cutter and began cutting though the flesh. So next, I did the intelligent thing. I purchased a full set of tapers and larger sets of jewelry. I started gauging up myself and my girlfriend. Both of us started with very small nipples. Her nipples were flat with very large aereolas. Mine were almost non-existent and they now distend over a half inch. My first achievable goal should be one inch.

Currently, I wear 0 gauge barbells through each nipple and my girlfriend, who’s now my wife, wears 8 guage circular barbells. Mentally, she’s beginning the move towards nipple enlargement. She’s still a bit of a wuss when it comes to larger gauges.

For me, the nipple elogation isn’t enough. I really enjoyed the new piercing rush. So now, I constantly try to recreate that feeling. To get the new piercing rush, I take out my barbells for a day which allows the piercing to close up. Then I put in a 10 gauge circular barbell and let the piercing tighten up for a few days. Once my nipples become noticably smaller, I know I’m ready to begin. I start the re-stretching process back up to 0 over the next 2-3 days at 1-2 sizes per day depending on how much sensitivity response I get from the tissue. By the second day, the larger jewelry tightens the nipple to an extremely sensitive level, more than a fresh one. The sensation lasts for almost a week. I’ve been cycling this process every two weeks for almost six months. To speed up the distention process, I sometimes use multiple pieces of jewelry and weights. Unfortunately, the impatience leads to small tears and negative inflammation. The only good way to elongate or distend nipples is to use one very large piece of jewelry and weight it.

The only drawback I have experienced to my pierced nipples is my physique. I’m into bodybuilding. I have a wide chest and rather large biceps. My biceps catch on the sides of circular barbells and/or captive bead rings whenever I reach across my body. This rips the sides of my nipples and ruins the piercing. It’s not good pain like gauging up. As an athelete, the safest and most functional jewelry that I’ve found is straight barbells. And the larger the gauge, the better. Everything else tends to catch and tear out the piercing.

My wife and I are designing tattoos to continue our union in body modification and self appreciation. My personal project is getting my wife to pierce her inner labias and begin the distention process on her lips.

BME is a great source of information and reinforcement for all people that want to move toward self-awareness.
