-3 lobe piercings in each ear (1st at 18 months, 2nd at 12 years 3rd at 13years)
-scaffolding in my right ear (14 yrs old...well I was 15 3 days after!)
-left tragus (15yrs old)
-left cartilage (15yrs old)
-standard navel (13 yrs old)
-Tongue (16yrs old)
-and my most recent a surface underneath my navel (16yrs old)
Until I was 16 it had always been a fight with my mum to get any piercing, but I always managed to get them in the end, even though it took a couple of months of persuading. Then I turned 16 and this was no longer a problem as I can now get them without mum's permission... and this is where my story begins!..
My mum has always been against the idea of me getting a surface piercing she hates them! But she knew that now I didn't need her permissions to get it done it wouldn't be long before I got the piercing!
So, one morning me and my friend Katie are sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus to college deciding what were going to do in our 2 hour lunch break, Katie decides she wants to venture to waterlooville and get a cartilage piercing, now I can never go to a piercing studio without wanting to get something pierced so I decide why not get the surface piercing now!
We go along to the studio and the guy who does the piercings is there and has the right jewellery for our piercing, Katie wanted me to go first as she was quite nervous about getting hers!
I filled out the form I needed to complete, and hopped up on the bed and layed down. By now i have the slight butterfly feeling i get in my tummy before any piercing. I wasn't too sure what to expect and didnt expect the initial piercing to be very painfull as all other piercings i have had doen have been numbed and therfore i havn't felt them.
The guy put on a clean pair of gloves and got everything ready; he then marked out where the piercing was going to go. he then cleaned my belly button and told me to close my eyes because I wouldn't want to watch but as I couldn't see my belly button anyway I just looked away at the ceiling. I felt the clamps bench my skin and started breathing deeply, by this point I was very nervous that it was going to hurt. The guy said 'this might feel cold' and sprayed the familiar stuff which made my skin feel numb and not be able to feel the piercing. I started to relax as I now believed I would just feel the pressure of the needle going through.
All of a sudden I felt the needle being pushed into my skin and it was soo painful, it felt like the needle took forever to get through my stomach, by this point my face has screwed up and my eyes were firmly shut to stop them watering!!! Once the needle was through the guy asked me if I was ok and said he was just going to put the bar through and it would all be over. Putting the bar through was also very painful.
When he was done I stood up and the guy asked me again if I was okay and I was like yeah I'm ok, he then went on to pierce my friend.
After we paid (it cost me £25) and were told about after care we left and the piercing hurt a bit, it felt like it was throbbing so quick trip to boots for some painkillers was in order! I took that and as soon as I felt it working I felt much better!
we made out way back to college where I pulled off the plaster to show off my new piercing to people, but then soon went and got a new one from the college nurse as my t-shirt was rubbing where it was tight and hurt!!.
That evening when I got home and took the plaster off I noticed it had bled a bit but not much, it was also swollen and bruised... This is a pic (is it comes up) taken about 4 hours after the piercing...
As you can see it's a bit swollen and bruised!
And then today it looks like this...
And then today it's less swollen but still a bit bruised haha! Still hurts when I catch it on my trousers or something though!
Was a big pain at work, I work in a pub restaurant as a busser/dessert maker. Last night (the day after the piercing) I was on desserts and spent four hours making and taking out desserts, was a pain because I kept catching leaning over tables grrr!
I think I'm done with piercing's for a bit not but guaranteed it wont b e long before I'm getting something else done!
