Well I had wanted a navel piercing for as long as I could remember and my parents like most didn't like the idea much. My mom as a nurse had her worries about healing and my dad just didn't think putting a piece of steel through you body was right so I went on my way just wishing I had one.

Around the time I was 14 I really started to bug my mom but the same words always came out. NO! My friends started to get theirs done by either their friends or they went to a studio. I saw the best and the worst and told my mom that I would do it myself if I couldn't get one. My moms worst fear was that I would do it myself. She had seen the results of a piercing party that a group of 15 year old girls had had. Everyone ended up at the doctors office with nasty infections. I printed out tones of info from sites like BME and left them on her night stand hoping that one day she would day yes.

Fast forward to christmas day when I was 15. Me and my brother were opening up our stockings when I went to throw it to the side to open up a few presents when my mom asked if that was everything in it. I did a double check and there in the toe was a little box. Inside it was a little ring and a business card to Warlock. I smiled so much that my face hurt and couldn't wait to get it done. My dad dint get it at first and thought it was a clip on but my mom procedded to tell him what it was and his face got more confused every second. I found out that one of my moms friends( another Nurse) had a son who had numerous tattoos and piercings was taking an apprentice ship with Warlock and had talked to my mom. She went in with her friend and checked out the place making sure they had an autoclave and such.

The studio was an hour away so on valentines day my mom, dad, and one of my best friends went down to warlocks after a birthday dinner. The guy who did my piercing talked to me about the aftercare and then made me and my mom fill out a bunch of forms. I then handed him the ring and he exchanged it for a sterilized one that looked the same. A little silver ring with a black/blue ball. He then called me back to his station. My mom talked to him about piercings and such and my dad just sat there dumbfounded that his little girl was going to get a piece of metal poked through her stomach! He couldn't take his eyes off the spike coming from his lip. He then placed the dots, cleaned up my belly, changed gloves for the 5th or 6th time and had me lay down. My mom held my hand, my dad just stood there and my friend started to turn white! He told me on the count of 3 he would peirce and on 3 I didn't even feel it. It was through but didn't hurt at all.I thought he had only gone like halfway thought. One of the best thi ngs is that he didn't use a clamp because I had enough flab, so I didn't get the bruising. My best friends was mad because there wasn't any blood and she wanted to see a little bit of pain! He put the ring through and let me take a peek in the mirror before we left. I pulled me shirt back over it and went to look at all the cute barbells I could get in the future while my mom paid for it. I couldn't stop looking,I fell in love with it.

Later that night my mom and dad wanted to go to an RV show and we walked through a few nice RVs and every time there was a big mirror I would be caught looking at it!.

A few months later it healed without any problems and I still have it today 3 years later. I followed the care instructions very carefully by doing sea salt soaks twice daily and within a month I started using a vitamin E oil and it healed 10 times quicker. The only thing I notice now is that some barbells tend to sit a bit to the side but it still looks great in a bikini. I sometimes don't even know it is there. The only real problem I have had with it is that I ride horses and tends to get caught on the higher waisted pants but other than that I love it!

I say to anyone who is thinking of it. Get it done!!!
