Ok. First off let me tell you about how much of a scardy cat I am! All of my friends had all of these piercings and were making plans to get more and half of my friends had tattoos.. Well since I was like 11 I have always wanted my belly button pierced.. I can remember looking at pictures and saying Wow!! I wish I could do that... Well...the weird part was.. I knew that I wanted it really bad but I thought my mom would say no so that is what kind of calmed me down a little.. It helped me not to work myself up over it...

And then she answered "I'll tell you what.. You keep ur grades up and you can get your belly button pierced.!!" I was soo excited that I didn't even know what to do.. I asked her this when I was in 7th grade.. Well 8th grade came along and my grades were really good so my mom finally said I could... So me and my Friend alisha were setting a date as to when and where to get it done.. We were thinking maybe in a couple of weeks from when we had talked about it..Well that same day I get a phone call from Alisha wanting to know if I was ready to get it done... And I was like yes!! But it being spur of the moment, I was kinda nervous.. I was thinking about if I should call alisha back and tell her I wasn't aloud to go because my mom wouldn't allow it. but I decide that I need to suck it up and go for it because it was something I have been wanting to do for a really long time.. Besides, besides my ears, the belly button was my first major piercing.
Well I meet alisha at Tat 1..and I'm waiting and waiting for her to get there.. Me being the first one there and having to wait made me extremely nervous... Well she finally arrives and we sign all our papers and all that good stuff and then we enter the room... and the first thing I see on a sign is "Yess it hurts" so I'm like freaking out.. Well we both got our belly buttons pierced at the same time and I remember laying in the chair all nervous while he explained to me what he was going to do and while he was marking me.. Well I'm sitting there while he has the clamp on and I keep saying "Omg Omg Omg it's going to hur.. I'm so scared" and then next thing he said to me was "I'm done" and I was soo excited and I didn't even know how to control my excitment...!! I am the biggest scardy kat in the world and I just got a needle stuck through my body!!
Honestly, I used to go on the internet and go through all these stories to see if it hurt or not .. but to be honest.. Everyone is different and everyone has a different story.. My opinion is is that if you really want a piercing go for it! The worst thing that could happen is it will hurt for like 2 seconds.... I am the biggest scardy cat in the world and I did it why can't you??
also, a little tip of advice.. If you guys are wanting to get your belly buttons pierced and you always go around pinching your belly button thinking that if that hurts then getting your belly buttons pierced will hurt.. Thing again!! Pinching your belly button hurst 10 times worse than actually getting it pierced...
The aftercare of the belly button is fairly simple.. Just soak it in salt water and for the first couple of days use some neosporin... It is also very important to have a checkup with your piercer after about a month or so so that they can tell you if u are ready to change your belly button ring or not. If you think you are ready but not sure. take a brand new belly button ring with you to the shop and if they give the ok. they will usually change it for you free of charge. It's better to be safe than sorry.. Another tip of advice.. If you get your belly button pierced with a hoop.. it's better than a barbell because you can turn it and it will heal better..
