Where to start and what to say, I am 15 years old and have a standard navel piercing which I love to death. I had wanted my navel pierced for as long as I could remember so for my 15th birthday my mum finally gave into me continuously bugging her about it. She told me I could get either a tiny stud in my nose, a standard tongue piercing or my navel. I definitely chose navel.

I live 25 minutes from town and know pretty much all of the places that do piercings I decided to go with deep image as it has a good reputation, its also waggas biggest tattoo parlour. I called deep image and spoke to Adrian who does the piercing and booked in for my birthday, Saturday the 10th.
I woke up on the morning of the 10th very nervous and excited, I cant remember eating anything before we left to go into town, I think I forgot I was so damn nervous! When we got to deep image at about 2.30pm my stomach was in the biggest knot, I was pale and shaking uncontrollably I am a huge sook!
I took with me my mum, my brother Rian and his girlfriend Erin. We walked into the studio it was huge and the walls were covered in tattoo designs but was professional and clean. There were 3 guys there the tattooist/the owner, the piercer/his son, another guy and there were a couple people walking around the place. Mum told them that I wanted my navel pierced and he asked me if I wanted a ring or bar I chose a bar. He then took my over to the jewellery to pick out my bar I chose the new ones that weren't even on the shelf yet, a standard clear double-jewelled bar, it was gorgeous! I had to wait for about 10 minutes so he could sterilise my bar.
With Mum, Rian and Erin all in the room with me I felt at ease. He told me to roll my top up a bit, stand up very straight, don't suck my stomach in, feet together, hands by my side and look straight ahead. He then took a little while to get the markings right and told me to lay on the dentist type chair and just relax. He got the needle ready and went to pierce my navel but realised it wasn't straight so again got me to stand and do the same he marked, showed me, and we both agreed it looked awesome.
I lay back down and he got the clamps and clamped my navel I was holding Erin's hand and scratching it, so scared of what was to come! He put the needle halfway through and jeeze I knew it! He then had to force it the rest of the way in. it felt surreal like my navel was just attached rubber, a very weird feeling. I didn't feel him put the bar in I pretty much lost feeling with it I stood up straight away and looked at it, it looked awesome as! I was in love. He put a patch over it and told me I could take it off in a couple hours. I got told all the usual things to do with it, that it should have healed by 6 weeks and I could put another bar in then but if it looked a bit shifty to wait longer. He gave me little containers to place over my navel with saline in them and he gave me alcohol wipes. We went to the counter as very satisfied customers and paid the $50 and left. We went out for lunch afterwards and I felt completely normal, best day of my life.
I cleaned it religiously everyday and it was fine just a bit red and sore to touch but normal. About 7 days after I got it pierced it got very swollen, I couldn't move the bar at all and it was a gross purple colour it felt like there was a 10 cent piece stuck under it, it hurt like hell! I called deep image and he said it was most likely infected what would have happened was when I was cleaning it some of the puss would have went back inside and caused trouble but I would have to go back in so he could look at it. I couldn't get into town but the day after that I noticed it was going down and not so sore, so I just took it easy with it.
Now it has been 1 month and 10 days exactly and it still gets a bit junky but I love it to death! I have changed the bar, I know that it wasn't 6 weeks but figured it wouldn't hurt it, I was right it didn't. I took that bar out because it was big and hard to sleep with and I simply just like my normal bar better.
