Well, when I got my top navel pierced when I was 16 and I heard from several people it wouldn't hurt. Lies. It ended up surfacing and I had to get it re-pierced. I knew I wanted another piercing but I couldn't decide what. After endless days of looking on the BMEZINE web site, and reading over 50 experiences I decided to try and beat the odds and get the bottom of my navel done since I thought it looked extremely cute. I wanted it for a long time but i thought I would just go with the standard piercing for my first one. Did some more research and before I could my change my mind I settled on the bottom navel. I got my labret and tongue done at generation x and was comfortable with the piercer. Needless to say, piercings are extremely addicting. And i'm still on the hunt to see what I want next. =)

I made the mistake the first two times of not taking tylenol before i went and got pierced and i wasn't about to make the same mistake twice. Took some tylenol, ( which I strongly reccomend if you get nervous headaches) got up the nerve and made the appointment. When I got to the piercing place i filled out the paperwork, they took a picture of my ID and I talked to the piercer and I told him that the top of my navel surfaced and I was just wondering if he thought the same thing would happen. He explained that there are not supposed to pierce with a CBR and that could be a huge part of the problem. Then he explained that the barbell they use to pierce the bottom of the navel is a lot smaller then what they use to pierce the top. Showed me what jewelry to pick from and even through in 1 for free for when I could change it. I picked out a an adorable baby pink one, and an extra green one and we headed to the back room to get it started.

I was glad to see he had a dentist chair type deal in his new shop instead of the bed they had when I got the top done. That put me at ease a bit more. He put the gloves one and told told me to tuck my shirt into my bra in case it fell down. He cleaned it with anti-biotic ointment, dissinfected it, marked it and told me to sit down while he explained how to take care of it after words, and when it was all healed he would change it for me..He tried convincing me to close my eyes but I heard way to many stories to be THAT foolish. Wasn't really looking to end up with a dirty needle in my stomach or something. Yes, I trusted him, but I wanted to make sure everything was properly cleaned and i'm weird and I like to watch everything that's happening, (not that I have a single clue what is actually supposed to happen, but, just to make sure.) And you can never be to careful. Then he got those "dreaded" clamps and the needle out and told me to take a few deeps breaths to relax and just lay back Everyone says that the clamps hurt. I didn't think they did either times I got it pierced but everyone is different. He put the clamps on and kept asking me questions to distract me and it worked well because I didn't even know I was pierced. He put the needle through, then the barbell and before I knew it, it was over. I was shocked because I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing. It didn't even sting. It was over in a matter of seconds. I thought he was joking when he told me it over. He gave me some anti-biotic cloths and sent me on my way.

All in all, it's an excellent piercing and well worth it. All the nerves I had could have been saved for the next piercing I get because there were most deffinitly not needed. After words its a bit sore, but you will deffinitly be happy with the results. It's well worth it and pretty unique looking. It's a little uncomfortable sleeping on your tummy for the first nights and I was petrified to get it caught on my shirt or the sheets so I wouldn't reccomend that. But mine heeled perfectly fine and I haven't had any problems with it. It hasn't bled since I got it done and it rarely ever even turns red. I went back and he changed it for me and i'm in love with it. If all piercings were as painless as that one, I would have every inch of my body pierced.
