Yes, I am a guy, and I don't think it is strange for a guy to have his navel pierced. I wrote an earlier experience about my self piercing which the piercing itself wasn't a smart idea, and my mother found out. I am now 17 which was the age she told me I could get my navel pierced after we discussed it since the incident where I pierced my own navel, and so we went to a local tattoo and piercing parlor on my birthday, and I didn't know exactly where we were going till we pulled up at the tattoo and piercing parlor.
At A Glance Author anonymous When It just happened We parked in the parking lot at the tattoo and piercing parlor then we went inside and walked to the front counter, and talked to the person there, and told her that I wanted to get my navel pierced, and she asked my age. The tattoo and piercing parlor was extremely clean, and everyone there were so friendly that it felt as if you knew some of them your whole life. She checked my navel in a separate room to make sure it was piercable, and it was. We came back out front, and she asked for I.D. from me, and my mother, and after she verified that it was my mother she had my mother fill out Forms for the piercing, and assigned us a number after my mother paid for the piercing. I was waiting for about 10 minutes then the piercer came out, and called my number which I think they do to keep peoples names confidential.
I went into the back room with my mother, and my piercer which I forgot to ask their name. I took my shirt off, while I was taking my shirt off my piercer was putting on gloves to protect himself, and me. After I took my shirt off the piercer marked my navel, and on the door was a full length mirror, and I was looking to make sure it wasn't crooked, and that I liked the placements, and I also had my mother look who was paying for the piercing, and we both liked the placement, and it looked good to both of us. I told the piercer that it was good, and then he had me sit in a chair that looks like it is suppose to be in the dentist office. He showed me all of the equipment he was going to be using which was in sealed bags, and he put the equipment in a brand new container. He slowly reclined the chair till I was in a laying down position. He took the forceps, and clamped it onto my navel which to me was the most uncomfortable thing about the piercing. He told me to take slow, deep breaths in and out. I was on my 2nd deep breath when I saw him take the forceps off I looked down at my navel, and I saw a curved needle sticking threw my navel, and I was a little shocked that I didn't feel a thing when the needle passed right threw my navel. I continued the deep breathing, and He took the curved barbell I picked out, and put it into the needle, and he pulled the needle out while having the barbell in it so that it would go right threw. He screwed the ball onto the barbell and I was done. I stood up after a few minutes since I felt a little light headed. I looked in the mirror, and I had a barbell in my navel. My mother tipped him generously, and I said thank you, and we left.
My mother, and I got home, and my sister was there. She wanted to see how it looked on me, and I showed her, and she said it was good looking. I am now trying to get my mother to get her navel pierced since my sister, and I both have it done. She said that she has three piercings planned, but during my navel piercing she was asking the piercer if navel piercings hurt at all, and if nipple piercings hurt so I think that might be what she plans on doing. I have only had the piercing for a day, but I love it so much already, and I have a piercing project planned for my navel. My father doesn't know about it since he lives far away so I don't have to worry about him being upset. I have been shopping around for more curved barbells for my navel piercing. I recommend to everyone that is thinking about piercing their navel by themselves to go talk to their parents, and get it done by a professional piercer. I will be writing about my project, and each new piercing.
