Well, a few years back I decided to get my navel pierced, I did, I was too young (14 or 15) & got it pierced by someone who didn't care & pierced it too shallow. Of course that rejected so I had to take it out. I got it re-pierced again when I was 16 at Marc's Tattooing in Dickson City, for some reason that piercing rejected too about 8 months after I had gotten it.

After that I figured that I wouldn't ever be able to get my belly pierced again because there'd be too much scar tissue & it'd reject again. I decided I'd get an inverse belly piercing, I did a lot of research about that online to see how it'd look & how that experience would go. I decided I wanted to get it done today, my boyfriend & I drove to the shop making it there only a half hour before closing & we went in, I told the girl there what I had wanted & she gave me a form to fill out. I handed her back the form & gave my ID as well. She then photocopied it & went over some choices of jewelery for me as well as the prices. A standard barbell, curved barbell & captive bead ring would have been $50. The steel barbells with the opal gem would have been $60, the other steel ones with a different style of gem would have been $70 & the titanium ones would have been $80. I chose the titanium jewelery because I had heard about people having reactions to steel & that titanium was the best. Steve my piercer also said that titanium was very good for healing & that right now it's the most requested one & most in style. He came out & said we were ready to go, my boyfriend & I walked in, he stood in the corner, while Steve told me to go stand by the bed & pull up my shirt. I told him I wanted an inverse piercing, but he told me the jewelery I had picked laid better on a standard piercing. I explained to him the reason I wanted an inverse navel piercing was because I did not want to go through the scar tissue because I knew that it would hurt too much & I feared it rejecting again. He asked me to explain what had happend with it before & I told him. He told me that he could pierce me BEHIND the scar tissue & that it wouldn't be a problem at all. I told him if he could do that, i'd have absolutely no problem with getting a standard done. He then started on with cleaning up my belly several times with different things. He then told me to stand up straight & put my arms at my side so he could mark the entry & exit holes. When he was satisfied that it was straight he told me to lay back on the bed. I did & he put on the clamps. They hurt like hell, he took them off & then rubbed my skin a bit to soften it up.

Then, he put on the clamps again, & they hurt of course. I asked him if he'd tell me when he was going to do it & he said he would & was just going to tell me to breathe. He took the needle out of the package & positioned it & told to breathe in & then breathe out. It honestly wasn't that bad, so like he said he did not go through the scar tissue. He cleaned me up & got the barbell in & everything & he changed his gloves several times too. After all that he could not stress enough how important it was to NOT play with the piercing & do not TOUCH it at all. And he told my boyfriend to not touch it either because that is one of the BIG things that will make it reject & what not.

When we were through he told me about aftercare & I bought that H2Ocean stuff which i've heard a lot about & he gave me his number & the email incase I needed anything & he talked with my boyfriend (they're friends) while I paid & tipped him.

Then we left, Steve's been piercing for 10years & you can definitely tell because he's very professional & to my surprise this is the first time that after the navel piercing that it's not hurting or sore right now. And it didn't really hurt bad at all when he did it. So that was definitely a shock for me. It looks really good & i'm honestly very happy with it :]

In my picture he did not pierce it crooked it's straight but the bottom of my belly button for some reason curves to the right.
