Okay, so my fascination of piercings started when I was about 7. My friends dad, who I thought was a little odd, but was cool all at the same time had both of his nipples pierced, right eyebrow, and a couple tattoos, one of which was a skeleton flipping whoever was looking off. Her mom on the other hand, had her navel pierced, which I thought was the coolest thing ever, and she also had a surface piercing on her back which was pretty neat. Long story short I soon fell in love with the world of body modification.

When I was 13 I got my second holes done, then shortly after that my third, and it kept on going until I had four in one ear and 9 in the other, including three cartilage which I had kept occupied with three hoops.
The only problem with them was that I didn't know that guns were bad at the time, so a year later they all got infected and I took them all out except for three in each ear.
Anyways, the story of my navel piercing begins when I was at school watching the High School Drama Class perform Tea Time With Monty. It was really dull, and the teachers didn't really care whether or not we stayed or left. So I walked up to the bus stop and took the seven downtown to Barrington. I had no idea what I was going to do when I got off of that bus, but I didn't really care, because there's lots to do downtown. Anyways, so I got off and walked up Blowers because I was going to go to the Black Market and the library. Well I walked passed two piercing places, Utility and Penna, Utility was across the street, and my friend had got her nose done at Penna two weeks before, so I decided I'd go there to get the navel piercing I had wanted for quite some time.
I had read some experiences on BME before and all that fun stuff. Though a year before hand I had gotten my friend to pierce it for me, my parents had said no piercings until your 16, you know, parents are the killer. I didn't want to wait another two years so I got her to do it for me, but I used a barbell with plastic things so it got infected and I had to take it out. Which is not a good idea, never let your friend do it for you.(This has significance later)
So when I walked through the door, I didn't really know where to go, there were all these stairs and turns and such. But eventually I found my way and when I got in there there was one girl and Dan asked if I wanted to get anything done. So I answered and we went over and picked out my jewelry, I got a banana barbell with a green gem in the bottom which was already sterilized and in the package. And we had to wait for the other girl to finnish so he went over it and got me to sign some forms.
After that we went into the piercing room and scotty came out to give us space and Dan went over the procedure and that it doesn't hurt much and I mentioned to him that I have scar tissue from a previous attempt. He said that it will hurt more because of it and that it should still be fine.
He washed his hands a few times, marked me, asked if I thought it was okay and then opened up his supplies. He clamped me which wasn't so bad, he was talking throughout the procedure. It didn't even hurt when he had the needle in, it was just when he was trying to push it through the scar tissue that it really hurt. Then he stuck the jewelry in and all was good. So I tipped him and thanked him and left, and afterwards it didn't hurt really.
Not until the third day, where it swelled and tried to ingest the ring, but it's been fine since, you know, the regular sea salt soaks and the Pears soap, which they give you.
So it has been about two months, and it is going absolutely fantastic. They tell you not to go swimming for a while but I went the second week I got it and have continued to do so, and it is fine, and I can't wait, I think this piercing will be a cool accessory for when I start to dance.
So even though the navel piercing is a bit overdone, I still think it is very pretty, and it adds a lot to a really bland area. And next up is nipple piercings, which are even prettier!
