It was November and I decided that I really wanted a nose ring for Christmas. My mom said sure at first, and then said no because my dad convinced her that it was a bad idea...psht. Well I was stuck on the idea and decided that I would keep asking until they let me have one for my birthday, which happens to be in the summer.

She said that she was thinking about having it done again. She said that she missed it and if she got it done with a shorter post it would fit better and bug her less. My mom did a lot of research and argues with my dad about it, and he finally agreed to let me get one. So I looked on the internet ((actually here)) and saw lots of picture ones and decided to pierce it with a regular one and then change it to a dangly one. I personally think that the dangly ones look better, they seem more i don't know...? real? I just liked the look a lot better.
We went to the shop after school one day looked at everything. I still wanted a nose ring more at this point, but my dad said he thought they looked trashy ((umm hello... and your letting me get a belly button ring?? ..whatever)) We paid, it wasn't as expensive as I thought it was gonna be, I mean it costs like 30 bucks at Claire's to get your ears pierced, while this only cost $60.
Anyway, the guy brought us back to the chair and I asked to go first ((cause I knew if I saw it being done I wouldn't want it anymore)) So he did all the usual stuff, sterilize, draw the dot, blah blah blah ((aha im not supposed to put that)) and I looked at the spot and it was all fine.
So he leans the chair back and clamps my skin, I was so scared. ((luckily I had my friend there for moral support, and a good hand to grab)) My mom couldn't watch cause she said she wouldn't get it done if she had to.
I flexed and I was shaking and the clamp hurt like hell, and then I felt a sharp pain and then the clamp came off and nothing. I was like,, uhh are you kidding me?? that's it?? and he pulled the chair up and said yup.
So if you want one, then I say get one. The clamp hurts a hell of a lot more then the actual piercing. And once its done its a little sore, but it looks cool and its fun to say you have it.
I had mine in for a while and it developed a bump on it, and I just decided to let it run its course, and after soaking it a lot and drying it out with lots of washing, it seemed to be going away. I figured out that the less contact you have with it the better. I know its hard to not play with something new, but the more you touch it the more you risk getting a nastier infection. You also could get a kelloid, that's what I had, the gross red bump. They go away if you don't have much contact with it and dry it out.
I do NOT recommend changing it too soon. I would wait AT LEAST a year before changing it. And changing it to a dangly cute one is NOT a good idea either. WAIT WAIT WAIT. The dangly got caught on lots of things and pulled and moved and rubbed on everything. I learned the hard way and got a Kelloid..they are not fun and they are not attractive. But defiantly get one if you've been considering it,, cause its no where near as bad as people say it is. There is a sharp initial pain, and then when its done you will be suprized at how fast its over with. After that its just sore and after like 2 weeks, you won't even remember you have it!
I then decided that I didn't really want a nose ring, but I really want a lip ring instead. I got the piercing bug. Once you get one you can't stop! I never understood why people had so many, but once you get on you cant stop. I pierced my ears 9 times now and have gagged 4 of them. So I soon hope to get a lip ring and then I will be for sure done...
