I love piercings, always have. I think they are the hottest thing I've ever seen and just been attracted to them. I have the standard 3 sets of lobe earrings that were done (stupidly) at the local mall and some done by me with a safety pin and a stupid stud.

So, I've been interested in getting my belly button done for years now. My mom never liked the idea of the whole facial piercings because of jobs and how some don't like it so all I could convince her to let me get was either ear piercings or just my belly button. Belly button it was, considering I have a nasty scar from hernia surgery back when I was 4, I thought it was a way to hide it.
Saturdays are usually walk in days at Creations but the Saturday I went, they couldn't do anything because of the humidity and lack of being able to put on the rubber gloves (can you say responsible?) Yes it did disappoint me but there was always other Saturdays. Instead, I got an appointment and went from there.
I was in school waiting for 1:00pm to come around and it was taking forever. I talked to my friend and saw if she wanted to skip part of fourth period and come to Creations with me. Being her, she said yes. I was as antsy as a little kid at a candy store, I could not sit in one spot for any long time. Eventually, it came. We had a smoke quickly and headed inside. By this time, I was so nervous I got the hiccups. Now, when I got my cartilage done, I loved feeling the needle go through it. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I didn't feel anything hurt.
After waiting five or so minutes in the waiting room we proceeded to the room. I sat on the dentist – like chair and watched Amy get ready to pierced my belly button, my two friends behind me. I was so nervous my hands were shaking like hell. She told me to get up so she could mark me. First shot and she got it bang on. She changed her gloves then started to wrap the elastic around the clamps and made sure they were tight enough.
Next was the part I was dreading. The clamps going on. Now I've heard they hurt a lot and take most of the pain away but yeah, they were wrong. I didn't even feel them. It took her about five minutes to adjust it and readjust them onto my skin. She unwrapped the package for the need and told me to concentrate on my breathing. By this time, I had my friends hand in mine and I was holding onto dear life. Just like I was about to die.
Then I got the giggles. See, I giggle when I'm nervous or excited (next to hiccupping that is). I gained my self control and all I remember was the needle going through. It felt like she took her bloody time. Of course, she didn't says my friend. I could feel the most wonderful feeling. The feeling of the needle going through every layer of skin. This hurt, even for someone that has a high pain tolerance.
She got it all the way through and took the clamps off. Being the curious me, I look at my belly button to see the needle sticking out of it. I laughed and my friend behind me said she was about to puke so she ran out of the room.
Next came the jewellery. The same sized hoop that was used on my cartilage was used for my belly button. No I didn't want a barbell cause I've had better experiences with hoops healing better. She put the hoop through and popped the little bright orange bead on and cleaned up the marks she made. She threw the items away and gave the whole speech about cleaning it and what not to do. After she did that, she cleaned up the chair and everything as I waited outside the room for my sea salt.
It's the day after right now and minus the little bleeding it did yesterday, its perfect. I love it to pieces. Except my friend hit it today and it started to bleed again.
I defiantly recommend it to anyone that wants to get it done. It was well worth the wait. My only advice is not to take it out for a year. My friend did and her skin that covers the barbell is about half a centimetre long.
I love this piercing and my cartilage. My next piercing will most likely be my nose if all goes well and I can get the money.
