Well it all started in grade five. A girl in my school had got hers done, and I loved it! I was only about ten at the time, so I knew there was no way my Mom would let me. It was hard to even convince her to let me get my second holes done. So I patiently waited till I thought I was old enough and then I'd go and ask her.

I wanted it to bad; I mean this was something that I couldn't wait for. I waited a year; I waited to ask my Mom on my twelfth birthday. It took awhile to convince her, but she agreed. I was really happy.

Then my Mom changed her mind. Funny how parents always do that. I thought well it's obvious that I'm probably never going to get it done, till I'm at least six-teen. But I really wanted this, so I waited till it was going to be my thirteenth birthday. Then I'd ask her. She at first said no, but I bugged and bugged her till she said I could.

I was happy. But I wanted to get this done as soon as possible. So I asked if I could get it done that following Saturday, she said ''Okay.'' We went on Saturday and there wasn't a pierer coming in that day, so I had to wait till Tuesday.

Soon enough Tuesday came; I was nervous but very excited. After about three years of waiting I'm finally getting it done! So after school, my Mom needed to do some shopping and things like that. So when she was done, we went to the piercing place.

We walked in and this lady with a few pierings and tattoos was there, and asked what we wanted. I told her I wanted my belly button pierced. She said okay. She gave my Mom some papers to fill out and I picked out my barbell. I picked out a cute light blue one. I really don't think they should be using the diamonds on it, because I heard those can collect dirt, and you have more of a chance of infection. But oh well. So she sterilized everything, and then she marked my belly button where she was going to put the needle in and out. After that she told me to lye on this doctor like chair. I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see what she was doing. I have a small tolerance for pain. Anyways, I felt her put the clamps on, the pain wasn't too bad. Then after that she told me to breathe in and out. I wish she just did it instead of the whole breath in and out thing. The needle actually hurt a lot. Which I wasn't expecting because before I got it done, I researched and read stories, and most of the people said it didn't hurt at all. So after that we paid her and she told us to come back in 4-6 weeks for me to change it. In total with tip it came to sixty-five dollars.

She did a good job, I didn't bleed or anything. I've had it for about a week and a couple days. So far problem free. I hope to keep it that way. I clean it 4 times a day. With sea-salt water and hydrogen peroxide. Your actually not suppose to use that but, I was talking to a lady who's daughter got an infection and used hydrogen peroxide and it cleared up in about a week or two. So I thought that was good, so I started using it. I wouldn't recommend using Hydrogen peroxide, because it might affect different people differently. Well I'm really excited to get to change it; I already have a cute ring that I'm going to get her to put in for me.

Some advice that I could give you, is not to change it before the 4-6 week period. Don't touch it without clean hands. Also don't go swimming within 6-8 weeks. Make sure you clean it WELL. Another thing is not to wear tight clothes that will rub against it, and may irritate it.

Mine so far doesn't hurt that much, it only hurt when my clothes hit the top ball and push it down, and when I hit it off something. If your parents won't let you yet compromise with them they might say yes, or if it's not even that important to you, don't even bother.

I would recommend this piercing to just about anyone. It's really cute. But don't do it yourself! So many things can go wrong. It's not worth it, personally, I think do it you piercing are dumb. But the choice is yours. If you have any questions you can e-mail me. Hope I helped. Bye.
