Since I was a little kid I've always loved piercings and by the time I was 15 I had 9, all in my ears. Before I get each piercing, I always research it on the internet which I think is the best thing to do to prepare yourself for what's to come, It's also where I found a picture of a quad navel piercing. My parents don't exactly love piercings so they said that only after my 16th birthday could I get anything I wanted done except my tongue (I'd have to wait till after my GCSE's to have that done.)So I decided on a quad navel although the thought of a scaffold was tempting.

We went to the piercing shop and had to wait for a bit as she was already piercing someone else. When she came down she apologised and told me that the man just gone had come in wanting two piercings but then had decided on another and left with three. I asked about having a quad navel done, and she said she could do it. I decided to only have the top two done that day, as as I'm not a good healer, I thought two at a time would be enough. The lady agreed to do it and she took me and my friends upstairs to have it done. I've have my conch pierced there before so I knew it was clean and the lady was good.
Whilst she clean up and got out the correct equipment I looked at the pictures on the wall. There were some good ones, quite a few of navels with three or four piercings in which was comforting. They all looked beautiful so i wasn't nervous at all about having it done.
First of all she discussed with me what type of jewelry I wanted to have in them. I decided on a typical belly bar with a green stud in but then after she'd looked at my navel she didn't think it would fit if I got the bottom two done as well. Finally we settled on some small, titanium, 1.6, curved bars which were plain but would look beautiful set in a four round my navel. She took her time carefully marking out where to have them whilst explaining that it was difficult to do as everyones navel is a different shape and hardly any are perfectly symmetrical. She took this into consideration however when marking out and changed her mind twice with the right marking. After asking me whether I thought it was in the right place, she continued to set up the equipment.
She told me to lie down whilst she sprayed my navel with freeze spray. She then clamped my navel which I could feel but it wasn't painful. Whilst putting the needle through she told me to breath in and then out which was good because I didn't know whether to, as it would move my stomach. I could definitely feel the needle and it took a bit longer to go through as apparently my navel is quite tough but it wasn't really painful, parts of my ear hurt much more when I got them pierced. After checking that I was alright she proceeded to the next one, which also was painless.
I sat up and looked at my belly, it looked so beautiful, and I was already planning when to come in next and get the bottom two done. She went through everything I needed to do in order to look after my piercings. She advised washing it with a cotton bud and salt water about twice a day, which i've found very useful to do in the past.
I thanked her and handed over the money, content with my latest addition. I love piercings so much, I was back half an hour later requesting a rook piercing, but thats another story.
It's only been a few hours but so far my navel is alright, it's not painful at all. I would highly recommend ice nine in nottingham, they're highly professional and the piercer there is fantastic. I now have 12 piercings altogether and can't wait for my next lot i really want my tongue done, they're so sexy. All my male friends have a tendency to pick me up and carry me over their shoulder, i just hope they don't when i next see them, otherwise it'll hurt like hell. Hopefully soon I'll get the bottom two pierced to complete my quad. Even though a lot of the guys at my school don't like piercings, I love them and my advice to anyone is to not listen to others, go with what you love. Be original.
